Application Architect / Software Architect - AWS & .NET (Remote US & Canada)

Define, architect, design, develop, and implement highly scalable, resilient web applications and mobile apps in tenant-based architecture. Act as SME and technology advisor, utilizing knowledge of AWS Cloud, C#, .NET, JavaScript, SQL, & other tools. Modernize and rebuild a critical enterprise application, that is the backbone of our business. Improve resiliency, reliability, and availability. Responsibilities:
  • Modernize our enterprise software application from the ground-up in an AWS Cloud environment.
  • Utilize knowledge of C#, .NET, JavaScript, APIs, SQS, SNS, Lambda, SAM, SaaS, SQL, etc.
  • Discover, analyze, and document current-state application architecture and technology stack.
  • Define and articulate future technology stack, technical roadmap, and architectural artifacts.
  • Own and define the future-state of application architecture and technologies utilized.
  • Partner with Technology and Product SMEs to elicit & translate requirements into solutions.
  • Research new technologies and prototype new ideas to build next-gen applications.
  • Develop future state cloud blueprints for key systems, transition plan and roadmap.
  • Work hands-on with development teams, applying coding practices to architectural design.
  • Contribute to development and improvement of architecture & software engineering practices.
  • Provide deep software development knowledge and expertise with respect to cloud architecture, design patterns and coding standards.
  • Support the full project lifecycle including strategy, design, implementation, and automation.
  • Ensure success in delivering a quality product. Support production-readiness & documentation.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in a distributed software development.
  • 5+ years as an application architect/software architect using AWS Cloud.
  • 5+ years as a hands-on software engineer using C#, .NET, JavaScript, & RESTful APIs.
  • 5+ years of application design/software architecture, delivering cloud-based applications.
  • Build/modernize full-stack applications using resilient, reliable, high availability engineering.
  • Hands-on with containerization platforms, serverless computing & event streaming.
  • Amazon Web Services, AWS IaC, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, Lambda, SAM, & SaaS.
  • MS SQL Server, RDMS, NoSQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL. DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, Jenkins, Chef.
  • Master's or Bachelor's preferred. AWS Certified Solution Architect a plus. Agile/Scrum/SDLC.

The salary for this position is anticipated to range between $160,000 - $200,000 per year plus bonus. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate's skills, experience, and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the pay range. The upper end of the range will generally be reserved for candidates with extensive experience. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law.
