Responsibilities:
  • This individual will work in close collaboration with the Application Developers, peer Support Leads, Application Managers, Offshore teams and Infrastructure Support.
  • This is a high-profile role working in a high intensity environment which demands an individual to display Business and Technical acumen, the ability to assimilate lots of information quickly, with focus on Incident and Problem Management whilst being highly adaptable to a changing trading environment.
  • This is a critical role requiring a motivated and flexible individual who must be confident in directing procedural and technical support within a Front Office Support team, and will demonstrate the ability to show resilience when faced with demanding clients.
  • Working closely with trading and sales desks, the individual will be responsible for the support of Flow Credit and Munis trading with specific focus on in-house applications and flows to external ECNs to cover trade life-cycle, trade capture, risk management and PnL.
  • First point of contact for all traders and front office personnel to resolve issues with trader tools and any business related information quality which may have fiscal impact if not resolved quickly.
  • Escalation and timely resolution of production issues, using fundamental problem management disciplines
  • Develop and Maintain documentation for reference as a knowledge base for training and incident mgt.

  • Has the chance to enhance capabilities of the support team and provide a leading example within the Support Environment.
  • Defining and driving monitoring enhancements and technical processes are considered part of the function for this role, to ensure consistency across the applications and business lines supported.
  • Leads a large project or multiple projects that are significant in scope and impact.
  • Works independently, with limited direction, and is evaluated through end results.
  • Initiates and provides leadership, strategic/tactical direction and planning input on all information technology and client/business area issues and in the development of a technical environment which meets current and anticipated business requirements and objectives.
  • Participates with Technology management in the development of technology products, service standards and development efforts that impact the client/business area.
  • Serves as a single point of contact and the escalation point between the client/business area and internal management for the resolution of unresolved problems, complaints and complex service requests.
  • Provides the client areas with technology products and service alternatives that improve the support delivery process, employees in this job code do not manage people.
Required Skills:
  • Experience supporting Linux, Java or Python and SQL based application platforms
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools and instrumentation (e.g. Geneos ITRS)
  • IT Service Management, ITIL processes
  • Knowledge of scripting languages: Python, Perl, Bash a plus
  • Strong business application support and problem diagnosis skills - Strong desire/ability to jump in and investigate issues, resolve problems, and communicate status
  • Experience with one or more: electronic trading, trade capture, market data, risk and regulatory reporting.
  • ECN connectivity knowledge BBG, TradeWeb, MarketAccess etc.
  • Financial industry experience especially in the Fixed Income business and product knowledge specifically aimed at eTrading.
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Ability to deal with a high pressure Trading environment.
  • Manage oneself in an environment of high frequency business and technology changes adhering to release and change management principles.
  • Experience working with Front Office or Middle Office in a Derivatives Trading business.
  • Must to be able to communicate crisply and clearly both from a verbal and written perspective.
  • Must be able to work autonomously and independently solve problems when needed.
Experience:
  • Automation and DevOps exposure: Splunk, Ansible, AppDynamics.
  • FIX protocol
  • Knowledge of release and change management principles.
