JOB SUMMARY:
Allied World is seeking an individual as part of Platforms Team to lead API/Microservices engineering efforts to build enterprise level reusable frameworks and modern APIs that will be used by other development teams across the firm. The successful candidate will work closely with other software engineers within the Platform team and also collaborate with the product delivery team to design, build, roll-out and support core enterprise platforms . This candidate as a Tech lead for Platforms/Marketplace team should have the ability to lead the development efforts by mentoring and managing the team members.

The below annualized base pay range is a broad range based on analysis of similar positions in the market. The actual base pay for the position may be above or below the listed range and determined by a number of considerations, including but not limited to complexity, location, and scope of the role, along with experience, skills, education, training, and other conditions of employment. Base salary represents one component of Allied World’s comprehensive total reward package, which may also include annual incentive compensation rewards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand the needs from product team, convert the requirements to creation of necessary frameworks and APIs catering to the needs.
- Socialize the ideas and formulate plans to deliver reusable frameworks.
- Lead the design, build and delivery efforts engaging with other software engineers and architects.
- Coordination with Vendor team for integration efforts.
- Tasks - Assign , Delegate , Follow-up
- Demonstrate the creation to users of the product teams. Educate, collaborate and enable the users to leverage the created frameworks for a successful integration.
- Maintenance and constant improvements of the engineering team software assets.
- People management and Team development
- Must be a self-starter with a great attitude, not afraid to take the initiative, and work with little supervision
- University Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or related field
- Engineering Experience developing modern frameworks and APIs
- Minimum 10 years of Strong Java Development experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Spring/Spring Boot , API Development, Microservices and messaging platforms
- Should have Tech Lead experience with prior hands-on sr. developer experience
- Strong command of Rest API integrations and other end point services
- Integration Experience using Spring Security , SAML , OAuth
- Strong SQL/DB integration experience through JPA
- Experience in collaborating with other internal teams to market the frameworks
- Extensive knowledge and experience using concepts including but not limited to:
+ DevOps – GitHub , CI/CD Pipeline
+ Monitoring and Alerting tools
- Experience in Agile/Scrum development PODs is a must
- Experience with AWS-based services like API Gateway , S3 , Lambda , Containers , CloudFormation is a huge plus
- Ability to work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations
