Title: Azure DevOps Engineer
Location: Remote
Duration: Long Term Contract
Responsibilities
- Work with customer, users, and architects to ensure Cloud architectures align to organizational needs
- Work with customers and users to identify system requirements and gaps between current and future desired states of a system
- Evaluate service offerings from Cloud providers and make recommendations to customer regarding best fit for solution requirements
- Identify and document solution alternatives with trade-offs and impact analysis
- Select and implement Azure services based on user requirements
- Plan, design, and deploy new hosting environments and associated resources
- Monitor and tune performance of deployed systems
- Manage both strategic cloud initiatives as well as immediate operational activities
- Engages in software solution planning and creation to ensure applicable cloud resources are most effectively applied
- Identifies where processes can be optimized through automation
- Ability to rapidly create secure environments for prototyping and Proof of Concept (PoC) development
- Ensures that cloud capabilities are leveraged to the fullest extent and available to large user bases
- Rapidly executes tasks and frequently iterates to ensure maximum user input and feedback
- Plans and implements big data transfer protocols, utilities, and infrastructure pipes
- Document model designs and best practices
- Research and respond to incident reports
- Establish standard backup / recovery policies and procedures
- Bachelors of Science with a minimum of 6 years’ experience and / or additional years of experience maybe accepted in lieu of degree
- Familiar with Agile and DevOps concepts and practices
- Expert knowledge of Source Code Control Systems (Git, GitHub)
- Expert knowledge of build automation and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment
- Must have Demonstrated ability to install, configure, manage and maintain Kubernetes based systems in using Azure Kubernetes Service
- Must have Demonstrated ability to work with Docker and its orchestration in Kubernetes
- Demonstrated experience in Microservices, Data Streaming, Big Data, Cloud solution architectures required
- Experience with Microservices and REST
- Working knowledge of Open API and OAuth
- Working knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, Object Storage, ADLS, Event Queues
- Working knowledge of Serverless services like Azure Functions and Azure Synapse
- Knowledge and implementation experience of Data Streaming architectures and design principles
- Hands on Experience with Kafka and Stream processing in Kubernetes
- Hands on experience with Elasticsearch and Kafka Ecosystem
- Must have Scripting and automation experience using Shell / Perl / Python scripting
- Azure Operations and Alert Management
- Hands on Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Experience with DevSecOps and building security into processes
- Experience with application setup, support, configuration, and upgrades
- Azure storage and data warehouse management
- Elastic Cluster Management (Elastic Search)
- Familiarity / experience with standard DBMS systems like Postgres, (Synapse or Redshift), Databricks, SQL
- Source Code Branching Methodology knowledge
- Ability to identify Kafka tracing and data flow issues
