Role Overview
The Azure Engineer will provide support for ongoing operations of a cloud-based system and work with software development teams, product owners, and system owners to deliver an automated cloud infrastructure and DevOps solutions for FEMA. The Azure Engineer will lead the creation of a secure cloud deployment and implement scalable environments (dev/test and production). The Azure Engineer will support the management and oversight of the virtual server environments to provide business continuity to include upgrades, patches, security, and documentation.
Responsibilities
Hands on experience in Azure Development, worked on Azure web application, App services, Azure storage, Azure SQL Database, Virtual machines, Fabric controller, Azure AD, Azure search, and notification hub.
Designed, configured and deployed Microsoft Azure for a multitude of applications utilizing the Azure stack (Including Compute, Web & Mobile, Blobs, Resource Groups, Azure SQL, Cloud Services, and ARM), focusing on high - availability, fault tolerance, and auto-scaling.
Expertise in Microsoft Azure Cloud Services (PaaS & IaaS), Application Insights, Document DB, Azure Monitoring, Key Vault, Visual Studio Online (VSO) and SQL Azure.
Expertise in Microsoft Technologies including VB.Net, C#.Net, ADO.Net, jQuery, Java Script, ASP.Net Web Services, XML, XSLT and Ajax.
Proven ability to design, implement and manage secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure environments
Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CAC)
Ability to design, build, manage, and operate cloud infrastructure and configuration environments with a focus on automation and infrastructure as code
Required Minimum Qualifications
BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
4+ years of experience of working knowledge within Microsoft Azure
3+ years of experience setting up and configuring build server and build agents
Experience with deployment tools
Extensive experience with Active Directory and group policy
Experience with SQL and MySQL database and related technologies
Knowledge of TFS, Jira, and/or Azure DevOps
Ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust clearance
Experience working in an Agile environment
Desired Skills and Experience
Prior experience working with DHS and/or FEMA
A current Public Trust, Secret, or Top Secret clearance
Working knowledge of SQL and MySQL database environments, SQL server, No-SQL databases, to include open-source software and containerization deployments
Working knowledge and experience coding with: Active Server Pages, JavaScript, C, C#, Python, and Visual Basic
In addition, U.S Citizenship is required.
