RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce is working with a gaming firm in search for a full-time Build and Release Engineer located in New York, NY. This person will be expected to design and implement automation of the manual tasks involved and thus ought to have experience automating/scripting. The person will be working independently, so they will need experience and the ability to define their own tasks, communicating with other teams, and reporting progress. Responsibilities:

• Architects new and fixes errors in functionality as tasked by the software development manager
• Design and develop the tools to allow efficient configuration management, build and release of software developed in Groovy, Scons, Python, Gradle
• Accountable to the development team for the CI/CD pipeline into daily development practices.
• Strategize on best practices for ongoing parallel development, featuring branching, merging, and common library management
• Maintain the automated build system for multiple software releases; Must be able to support multiple contiguous code branches
• Accountable to Software Development manager for researching and implementing new, and maintaining existing workflow processes
• Work with the Game Engineering and Quality Assurance teams to ensure the workflow is up to organizational standards; Manage build communication channels and document build procedure
• Accountable to QA to deliver a deployable representation of the products packaged for a release
• Coordinate release candidate build schedules between Development, PMO, Product, QA, and Operations
• Work with all areas of application delivery to ensure the build/deploy process is serving the needs of the business

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent field
• 5+ years of development experience
• Working knowledge of Jenkins and experience creating build and deployment automation
• Working knowledge of Python scripting
• Working knowledge of Groovy - both for use with Jenkins and Gradle
• Working knowledge of CI/CD
• Experience with Emscripten and Azure (DevOps & VM) are a plus
• Proven ability to work independently
