Job Description
The main objectives of this position are to define user requirements for the business based on observation, information gathering, and collaboration with business subject matter experts. Based on these user requirements, the business systems analyst will develop the functional specifications in the form of user stories and work a product backlog for the support scrum team. Following product development, collaborate with the business and Quality Assurance to perform software testing and deliver documentation of system functionality.

Job Description

Following product development, collaborate with the business and Quality Assurance to perform software testing and deliver documentation of system functionality.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Evaluate and design business processes and system functionality to support business requirements. Collaborate with business subject matter experts to author business requirements and user requirements. Obtain approval of requirements from management and stakeholders.
- Evaluate multiple site operations and propose requirements with global, harmonized perspective.
- Propose processes and functionality that is consistent with Lean concepts.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts to elicit, author, review, and improve user stories based on the business and user requirements. User stories should include functional description and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure that User Story grooming sessions are managed and planned with an effective backlog plan for the sprint team.
- Work with Product Owner to manage the backlog and develop User stories aligned to the roadmap for the program
- Escalate and follow-up in a timely manner on any issues that might impact the overall project quality.
- Contribute user experience design, user experience style guides and development of overall application patterns
- Embrace Scrum practices and methodology as dictated by SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) procedures
- Develop appropriate working relationships with IT and non-IT target groups in organization. Actively support reuse and sharing among teams located in US and India.
- Provide support to software Quality Assurance by providing business test data and supporting user acceptance testing.
- Support successful software adoption by delivering documentation of system functionality in the form of standard operating procedures, training documents, and recorded demonstration.
Qualifications
- Experience evaluating business operations and documenting current and ideal business process flows, preferably applying Lean concepts.
- Experience with authoring business and user requirements related to a software application.
- Experience developing User interface and related requirements for business applications involving web applications with complex business processes.
- Knowledge of User story development, Story Boarding process, and history of taking high level requirements and transforming into scrum stories.
- Excellent English communication skills (clear, concise technical writing and effective verbal communication) including ability to present User stories to teams, provide business background and detailed support for team questions.
- Very good interpersonal relation skills at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work in a complex international environment
- At ease with distant communications leveraging a wide array of technologies (shared code, documents and forums, phone, chat, e-mail)
- Experience in usage of Tools like Azure Devops/TFS for Requirements management, Visio, SharePoint etc
- Excellent analytical skills which allow quickly identifying gaps in specifications and code
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, business or related technical degree, orequivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major)
- Working Experience in Agile Scrum Process model
- At least five years in an industrial or process driven environment, and ideally in the life sciences or Pharmaceutical industry.
- Prior experience as a Business Systems Analyst in an IT environment, with track record of results.
