The Lead Software Engineer builds software functionality and participates actively in the delivery team by taking on development responsibilities for the entire tech stack. The Lead Software Engineer not only contributes to but drives several other technical activities such as DevOps and quality of the product while working closely with the Product Team to refine acceptance criteria of stories. They will provide mentorship, and be able to work in a highly motivated technical environment with like-minded team members. They will have a real passion for development and a demonstrated appetite for continual learning, typically manifest in their community contributions (e.g., open source work, publishing / speaking on technical ideas).

The things that you will tackle:
- Coordinate and lead DevOps for the team including: Release and Deployment process end-to-end, IT Services coordination (operations), and environment performance
- Build applications ensuring that the code follows latest coding practices and industry standards
- Coordinate and interact in the business logic and backend systems of the MVP experience
- Work closely with other Software Engineers and QAs to understand the system end-to-end
- Write unit, integration, and functional automation tests
- Develop high quality, well documented, and efficient code
- Challenge ideas and opinions to avoid pitfalls and inefficient solutions
- Build using modern design patterns and architectural principles
- Support product owners in defining future stories and provide leadership in defining technical designs
- Constant innovation in improving our products and how we deliver them.
- 8+ years of experience with full stack software development
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT or other related field; or equivalent work experience
- Seen as a keen learner within the technical components of the domains/products
- Prior experience with Agile ceremonies and methodology to reinforce technical development best practices is a plus
- Passionate to learn new technologies and strives towards cross-functional development
- Significant experience writing and utilizing autonomous services oriented RESTful API services and performance tuning large scale apps
- Advanced experience with database systems, with knowledge of SQL (MS SQL Server or equivalent, MongoDB, etc.)
- Advanced experience with HTML, CSS/LESS/SCSS/etc., JavaScript, and integrating with JavaScript frameworks, such as React, Angular JS
- Proficient with C#, WP, AWS environment management, LAMP stacks, PHP, JQuery, Elastic, Logicmonitor, Nagios, Jenkins, GIT, Gulp, Bootstrap, Rackspace, Flexbox
- Responsive Design and GA release concepts
- Exemplary technical problem-solving skills.
- Strong fundamentals within coding technologies and a willingness to wear multiple hats when needed.
- Ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts to non-technical team members
- Highly quantitative with great judgment and passion for building a great customer experience.
