Job Description:

Primary Responsibilites include:
  • Lead the CCB FinOps Center of Excellence day-to-day initiatives to inform teams about cloud cost opportunities, best practices, persona roles & responsibilities
  • Analyze large data sets relating to our private and public cloud costs to help optimize efficiency and RoI for both technology and the business
  • Develop and drive execution on opportunities for cost optimization by partnering with infrastructure, engineering, and finance teams
  • Develop and deliver content through regular newsletters, office hours, information sessions and all other communications channels to enable 12,000+ technologists and finance on the FinOps transformation. The audience includes senior Product Owners, Tech Partners, infrastructure leaders, and finance
  • Lead cross-functional teams in developing optimization playbooks, with a target state of automating efficiency as much as possible
  • Develop and regularly deliver executive-level reporting of progress against our FinOps goals and objectives. These reports would be consumed by CIO/ CFO and their leadership, Product Owners and Tech Partners, infrastructure engineers, as well as financial analysts
  • Drive parity between cloud infrastructure budgets and forecasts
  • Be the conduit between the centralized GTI FinOps CoE and CCB to communicate new features, functionality and opportunities to end users, as well as enhancement requests from our users of GTI tooling
  • Influence product roadmaps on integration between opportunity reporting systems and application & product backlogs
  • Once mature, drive automation of much of the above
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fundamental cloud certification from AWS, GCP or Azure, and real-world experience with IaaS, PaaS, cloud storage
  • FinOps Practitioner certification from the FinOps Foundation, including hands-on experience with AWS trusted advisor and Cost Explorer
  • Possess a solid understanding of IT operations, cloud technology, architecture and design with a mind towards financial cost
  • Proven expertise in optimizing costs with a FinOps or cloud financial management vision
  • Ability to properly structure, model and visualize cloud platform data to support decision making. Do deep dives to further dissect issues or identify opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to run large scale, highly visible programs with responsibility for multiple project teams
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively and deliver presentations to leaders
  • Experience in building trusted partnerships between finance and engineering, influencing colleagues to drive action towards infrastructure efficiency and cost savings. Ability to set clear action items and hold others accountable
  • Experience setting KPIs, metrics, trends, and forecasts, and driving teams to successful outcomes
  • Expertise developing software using languages such as Java, Go, C-based languages or Python.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, modern SDLC practices and tools
  • Confluence design best practices
  • Scripting of cloud based automated solutions
