Job Title: Cloud Consulting Architect
Position Overview:
The Consulting Cloud Architect is a senior technical leader role for an individual with proven experience in guiding strategy, planning, architecting, and delivering high-value cloud solutions for our medium to large enterprise customers. Consulting skills, Pre-sales engagement and hands-on depth of knowledge is expected.
In addition to the technical requirements, you must understand the business value of implementing these solutions; the impacts of people, process and technology; and how to communicate effectively with senior technical staff and executives verbally, in written communications and professional deliverables. Your ability to clearly communicate solutions to our clients through formal presentations, create documentation, manage expectations and oversee solutions implementation on multiple cloud platforms will be key to your success. Additionally, this role requires an understanding of traditional data center environments, application architectures, application modernization, security and related areas so that the full spectrum of cloud requirements and solutions can be explained in context.

Position Responsibilities:
Essential job responsibilities that are specific to the position:
- Work with internal team members and customer contacts to understand business and technical requirements
- Lead simple and/or complex opportunity engagements, lead technical discussions, assessment, design and implementation of cloud solutions
- Maintain familiarity with and, when appropriate, utilize proven methodologies and tools
- Mentor other team members on cloud technologies, business impact and consulting approaches for cross training
- Document strategy and solution visions and assist with a variety of needs leveraging your in-depth understanding of the cloud industry and technologies
- Experience architecting and implementing cloud solutions. Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP and IBM clouds as well as Red Hat OpenShift & Ansible, Terraform, Python, VMware’s solutions, cloud and datacenter network and their appropriate applications are all desirable for this role.
- Consulting experience working in multiple customer environments of varying size and scope
- Excellent customer service, communication, and documentation skills. This is a customer-facing role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex technical problems.
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
- Proven ability to build and lead teams in complex technical environments
- A passion to learn technology.
- Provide necessary written documentation and knowledge transfer to customers during and after project implementations as appropriate
- Experience guiding the work of and mentoring others
- The ability to travel
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- At least 10+ years of experience in cloud and cloud related technologies required with design and hands-on implementation as part of that background, additional experience and other technology knowledge an asset
- Cloud Engineer/Architect Certifications preferred
- Knowledge of offerings, methodologies and tools particularly as it relates to infrastructure and application modernization
- Familiarity with developing and deploying infrastructure-as-code and ability to counsel others on successful approaches
- Experience running consulting engagements for strategy, assessment, process and implementations/migrations
- Experience with agile methodologies, DevOps, container platforms
- Experience in scoping and writing statements of work and defining resource requirements
- Familiarity with data center networking, VMware, Linux, Windows and IBM Power Platforms (AIX, IBM i)
- Knowledge of other related technologies and platforms would be beneficial
