Working from an office in Columbia, MD or a home-based position, the Content Developer is responsible for maintaining existing and developing new curriculum in various disciplines for grades K-12. Reporting to the Manager of Curriculum Development, the Content Developer writes, reviews, and revises curriculum and assessments to improve accuracy, alignment, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
Communicate effectively with content development team, product development cross-functional agile team members, and members of product management
Contribute to the creation and refinement of curriculum development user stories
Consult with and support teachers in the creation and implementation of curriculum
Demonstrate knowledge of state and national curriculum and NSQ standards
Contribute to course development, which consists of course maps, learning objectives, learning objects, and activities to meet specific state and/or national standards
Demonstrate depth and/ or breadth of expertise in own specialized field and provides expertise to various stakeholders
Works with a cross-functional Agile team to complete projects and features
Works with the Product Development managers to ensure the development of high-quality curricula and resources
Proposes and implements new ways of working or procedures within own area
Negotiates resources within team and may negotiate across teams to agree on common objectives
Maintains effective relationships within own and related areas
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; degree in education, curriculum, or similar area preferred
Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience required, with virtual learning preferred
Minimum of 3 years of curriculum development experience required, with curriculum to support asynchronous virtual learning preferred
Proven track record of meeting deadlines while producing highly accurate, accountable work; very detail-oriented
Advanced knowledge of education management systems, learning management systems, and/or content management systems
Proficient with Microsoft® Office, Azure DevOps, HTML, and ability to learn other software programs and technology platforms quickly
Must enjoy a challenging work environment that requires flexibility, self-direction, creativity, strong communication, and organizational skills
Must be able to successfully work independently and also as part of a team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with SAFe Agile principles
Working knowledge of accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG 2.1) is a plus
