Company Description

We’re looking for a Senior UX Designer to help raise industry expectations of what software testing tooling could – and should – be. We need someone to elegantly translate a thorough understanding of user needs and user journeys into simple, easy-to-use products, platforms and experiences.

Have you ever been frustrated by working at a place where you were told your design ideas were “too out there” or “too unconventional?” That won’t happen here. We encourage people to break the mold if doing so creates a better experience for our users. True innovation is the key to the growth of Tricentis.

If you’ve always dreamed of designing applications largely free from the technical constraints of legacy systems, you may be a good fit for this role!

Who We Are

Tricentis makes the software industry’s #1 Continuous Testing platform and is recognized for reinventing software testing for DevOps. We aim to remain #1 by focusing on creating experiences for our users that are second-to-none.

Job Description
  • Lead ideation sessions and workshops with cross-functional team members, including people from Product Management, Engineering, Product Marketing and Customer Success.
  • Rapidly create high-fidelity Figma prototypes to test the value of potential solutions with users.
  • Work with subject matter experts to create user journey maps, finding opportunities for innovation along the tester’s journey.
  • Partner closely with the VP of UX to help craft the design strategy and vision for our cloud-based products and services.
  • Serve as a mentor to other designers on the team.
  • Review the work of other designers to ensure that it aligns with the design vision of our Cloud-based products and services.
  • Work with the Design Systems Lead to change our standards if you find solutions that work better than what we currently have.
  • Use strong systems thinking to design products that fit into a user’s overall journey, their workflows and their mental models.
Qualifications
  • You have experience in all stages of the design process – from concepting to specifications.
  • You’re located in Phoenix or can work remotely in a city in the Southwest or Southeast region of the US.
  • You have experience in the tech industry or in a similarly complicated domain
  • You have the aptitude and willingness to learn the nuances of a complicated domain. We don’t expect you to know everything right away. We reserve a portion of our working time to continuous learning. And people on the team are generous in sharing their expertise with each other.
  • We’d love to see at least five years of experience in design. But, if you don’t have that, we make exceptions for exceptional people.
  • You have a definite point of view and aren’t shy about sharing it. But you’ll change course when faced with objective data.
  • You’re friendly and approachable. People want to work with you because they can freely contribute ideas and because you are fun to work with.
  • You’re able to diplomatically synthesize multiple viewpoints to make a single optimal design.
  • Your passion for clean, elegant and simple design is second only to your enthusiasm for involving people with different perspectives in the design process.
  • You view constructive feedback as a gift from others and you actively seek it out.
  • You rely on both a well-honed professional intuition and as much data as you can find to make design decisions.
Additional Information

Your First Three Months
  • Month 1: You’ll be in “listen and learn” mode. You’ll meet many people throughout the company to better understand company culture. You’ll also use our products, learn the software testing lingo and learn as much as you can about our users.
  • Month 2: You’ll become comfortable working on your cross-functional product team and will lead your first ideation workshop.
  • Month 3: You’ll work with other designers on all cloud-based product teams to create an integrated prototype.
Why You’ll Love Working at Tricentis
  • The benefits are great! Some benefits include flexible working hours (no core time) and company paid volunteer days.
  • Our commitment to diversity and inclusion runs deep. We actively seek out those with different perspectives and consciously take steps to ensure everyone has a voice that is listened to. We want to make the best, most innovative products and we need multiple perspectives to do that. That isn’t just lip-service. We continuously update our processes if we find ways they can be more inclusive.
  • Team members genuinely want the best for each other and the company. People are happy to share their insights and will lend help when needed.
  • We’re passionate creators – of both products and experiences.
