Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Builds Proofs of Concepts (PoCs), filing patents, and writing papers,
- Works with broader stakeholders to develop a strategic roadmap for the team,
- Develops the strategic roadmap for tactical milestones and deliverables,
- Collaborates with a Development and DevOps team based in India to help deploy and operationalize PoCs at scale,
- Represents Comcast at external conferences and events to demonstrate community impact and thought leadership
- Directs research of new technology areas. Analyzes and evaluates changes in technology and defines current and future departmental objectives. Leverage relationships with industry partners to keep current with technological developments within the industry, develops new standards, monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products.
- Develops and manage department and project budgets.
- Recruits, build, and nurture high performance teams.
- Provides leadership and direction to Technical Research and Development staff by setting goals, objectives, performance criteria and departmental standards.
- Forecasts project estimates, resource needs, timelines and oversees schedules of product releases and project time tables.
- Schedules and moderates periodic meetings with staff to review recent developments and plan/prioritize future activities.
- Presents concepts and technical information in common terms to end user(s).
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
