Job Description


The Head of Commercial Data & Analytics Capability Delivery is a senior member of the Information Insights and Analytics Leadership Team accountable for developing breakthrough data-driven solutions supporting CSL Behring’s 1500+ global sales and medical teams in our bold 2030 revenue growth targets. In partnership with embedded analytics groups like Global Commercial Operations the role will work to enable and integrate at scale sales, medical, HEOR value, access and pricing data and serve analytics for all our global inline brands and products. Leading a global team of 5-8 employees and an equally diverse partner eco-system for execution and delivery.
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Data & Analytics Advisory Services
  • Enable a single point of interaction for the Commercial BU for all things data and analytics enablement including end-to-end solution delivery as well enablement of data quality and metadata capture for key data within Commercial

Service Line Data Platform and Data Strategy
  • Responsible for implementing the Service Line Platform and Data Products & Services across Research
  • Accountable for developing a Data Strategy (including real world data from EMRs, claims, etc.) for Commercial in partnership with IT Business Partnership & respective Commercial leadership teams
  • Developing analytics roadmaps based on the data strategy and outcomes /priorities of the Commercial in collaboration with the embedded analytics teams and the Commercial Leadership Team

Data Insights and Analytics DevOps (Includes Data Modelling)
  • Responsible for development and continuous improvement of data modeling techniques in use for Commercial in alignment with Enterprise Data Architecture best practices & guidance
  • Develop best practices, processes and guidelines to translate business activities and objectives into parameters for analytical models, visualization and user experience optimization
  • Responsible for the capability maturing, development and D&A spend and utilization for Global Commercial

BU Specific Master & Reference Data Management
  • Define and maintain hierarchies (including taxonomies and ontologies), data validation/quality rules for all applicable Commercial specific master & reference data

Data Monitoring and Alerting
  • Ensures data pipelines & analytics workloads are proactively monitored for uptime, compliance, governance & quality and that alerts are managed and remediated when there is an issue. Full bore ownership of mature software/application configuration items for Data & Analytics products and platforms for Research

Business Intelligence/ Visualization
  • Analyze outcomes from data science and analytics to apply to business actions in partnership with the Commercial leadership team
  • Manage and optimize BI and visualization portfolio lifecycle management as capabilities mature

Data Science
  • Determine modeling standards, guidelines and best-practices in partnership with AI & Rapid Data Labs, other BU aligned D&A delivery teams and embedded analytics team from Commercial

Education
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics or Decision Sciences
  • Advanced MS or PhD Degree in Statistics, Computer Science preferred

Experience

  • 10+ years information and technology experience, including specific experience in data and analytics domain including data warehousing, lakes, and full complement of analytics platforms and maturity from rudimentary descriptive analytics to advanced decision sciences support (ML/AI technologies included)
  • Pharma/Biotech/Life Sciences Commercial environment experience is a must
  • In-depth functional understanding of Pharmaceutical Commercialization processes and key functions
  • Familiarity with implementing and/or using Commercial data systems including (but not limited to) Veeva CRM, Veeva Vault, Veeva PromoMats, Sales Force.com, ModelN, Commercial MDM Solutions like Informatica / Reltio, etc
  • Demonstrated ability to influence at all organizational levels through clear, concise, and impactful verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build, mentor and grow a high performing and cohesive team
  • Adaptable to handle a fast-paced working environment
  • Exceptional listener and collaborator
