Data Architect
Position Description
We're looking for an individual who can support our Emerging Technologies Practice to provide expertise for Application Modernization and Data Architecture initiatives focused on structured data archiving. In this role you'll work with at least one of our clients to assess and develop strategies and plans around current application environments to achieve successful live archiving streams. You will work with solutions architects, engineers and software developers. You'll directly be responsible for technical leadership and providing consultative guidance to our client as they embark on their Cloud transformation journey and begin building live archiving connectors as a means for reducing technical debt across their organization during the transformation.
Your future duties and responsibilities
o Establish yourself as the leader and trusted advisor for both internal and external customers
o Convey customer needs and your recommendations to internal account teams
o Translating customer business requirements into solutions
o Providing technical analysis to ensure solutions are operationally sound
Specific Responsibilities
Hands on with Data transformation and migrations (both on-prem and cloud)
Design and Implement data architecture that improves application features and performance
Review and evaluate requirements from leadership and translate to technical design
Implement data strategies and developing physical data models.
Update and optimizing local and metadata models.
Communicate the technical design and work closely with development team
Develop and configure the storage and maintenance of the data
Evaluate implemented data systems for variances, discrepancies, and efficiency.
Troubleshoot and optimize data systems.
Validate proper implementation
Working in all phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes
DevOps for databases for example moving from design to end result
Working alongside application developers
DevOps o Agile o Scrum
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Soft Skills o Consultative o A "hunter" mentality - no sitting idle o Good written and oral communication skills o Must have experience working in skill diverse teams (technical and non-technical)

At least 8 years' experience working in a similar role
Experience with one of the big three Cloud Providers is a must have
Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proactive and self-reliant, take ownership of tasks and resolve them on time and with quality
Experience with data archiving
Understand database warehouse and decision support design and techniques
Advanced SQL query techniques and designing and developing data solutions for reporting
Experience defining and implementing data policy, procedures, and processes
Design and implement data architecture that improves application features and performance
Data analysis used to gain insights into what to suggest to a customer
o Performing complex technical work which may include writing and testing code, proof of concepts, documentation
Hands-on experience with Solix Common Data Platform and related services
Experience with the concept of live-archiving is a big plus
Hands-on experience with Amazon AWS data technologies and related services
Experience with data log streaming strategies is highly desired.
Minimum Education Required: Bachelors Degree; Math, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, other Science fields
