As a mid-level DevOps Engineer you would be joining us during a time of transformation and growth in our Compliance Solutions (CoSo) group that touch a range of solutions that include tax, compliance, wage payments, wage garnishments, employment verification, W-2 management and much more. In this role, you will be a key part of the CoSo's Next Generation Tax Platform that lays the foundation for the company's tax compliance products for companies of all sizes. You will have the opportunity to be part of a world class team of engineers and be part of an exciting transformational journey.

We are looking for someone who's had real world experience in delivering digital products at scale and talk intelligently about the problem statement, benefits, and the “why.” As a mid-level DevOps Engineer, you not only have a strong command of solution design and software development, but you're also well versed in cloud technologies such as AWS serverless solutions that's designed to solve some of the biggest problems in the industry. This is a highly visible position that's responsible for developing innovative, flexible and scalable solutions. In this role, you will make positive contributions to strengthen our product that will allow ADP to continue to be the global HCM leader.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • You will be a part of delivering ADP's next generation tax solution, a strategic initiative for the company and one of the key pillars of our core business
  • Optimize AWS deployments for scalability, efficiency and security
  • You work as part of the engineering team, collaborating to implement and maintain the configuration, identifying dependencies, potential conflicts, document the process and track a schedule of the deployments for each environment.
  • You're a steward of quality. Quality driven development is paramount to ensure our users can use our system with minimal interruptions.
  • You'll be delivering in the cloud where continuous integration and delivery is the norm
  • Relentlessly find ways to simplify and automate our environment
  • Build scalable solutions that anticipate growth and performance needs
  • Identify opportunities for improved monitoring and alerting to anticipate and identify issues early
  • Design and Implement fully automated CI/CD pipelines
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:
  • With Operational Excellence being one of our key goals, it is critical that you manage project timelines, deployment and operational plans, and budget and ensure that business requirements are met with high quality
  • Collaborate with other architects, developers, product management and other key stakeholders to capture functional and non-functional requirements
  • Implement security guidelines, collaborating with the security team
  • Generate proper designs, diagrams and documentation of the implemented solutions
  • Provide technical leadership and motivation to junior developers and contractors
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline

  • Minimum 2+ years of progressive experience as a DevOps engineer
  • Real world experience working with a wide array of technologies and have delivered scalable, enterprise grade solutions
  • Expert in a wide range of programming languages such as Java and Python
  • Simplify and/or enhance APIs that is designed for the right experience and allows the system to scale
  • Have implemented and delivered reusable, scalable design systems such as Stencil.js
  • Understanding of AWS and / or serverless technologies and data architecture such as NoSQL or document database is a big plus
  • Good understanding of DevOps and CI/CD practices and tools
  • Experience with markup languages (JSON, XML)
  • Experience with API standards and API Gateways
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
