Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that daily production, productivity, quality, service levels, and performance objectives are accomplished. May become actively involved, as required, to meet schedules and resolve problems.
- As a Lead of the DevOps team, this role will include working with development, QA, architecture, and infrastructure teams to install, deploy, upgrade and maintain applications in multiple Clouds, environments, using automation.
- Maintains ownership of incident management and problem management processes for the team to drive continuous improvement for end user experience and SLA guarantees.
- Leads a team responsible for configuration, packaging and release of applications on the Cloud and On-Prem
- Work closely with security and compliance teams to ensure that all the measures are in place before deployments
- Availability, Resiliency and Cost effectiveness of the Cloud Platform.
- Work closely with partners within the Infrastructure and IT organizations to ensure alignment, support and adherence to newly defined processes
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with the development, test and engineering teams - onsite and offshore.
- Establishes plans, policies, priorities and procedures within the group. Ensures the consistency and compatibility of technology solutions company-wide.
- Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity
- Manages 3 - 8 on-site direct reports and several off-shore resources.
- Participates in strategic architecture discussions.
- Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and delivers proposals that meet business needs.
- Demonstrates ability to work effectively with clients, management and staff to ensure the team is meeting their needs
- Responds to requests for information from clients, auditors, and internal resources.
- Provides regular status updates to management and to internal and external stakeholders.
- Understands and communicates technology and industry trends and roadmaps.
- Manages the human resources of the department, i.e. staff selection, training, compensation, performance, career planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree, with a technology emphasis or equivalent experience
- 15+ years of IT experience
- 5+years of experience as a DevOps director / senior role with strategic leadership responsibilities
- 7+ years exposure to enterprise cloud implementations (preferably AWS)
- Strong review skills on Architecture design and Automation code
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Re-engineering systems and processes to improve efficiency
- Expertise and working knowledge of network/server infrastructure running in virtualized and cloud environments.
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery
- Experience with TFS and Git, JIRA and related Atlassian stack
- Experience with environment provisioning and deployment automation
- Client relationship/vendor management skills
- Knowledge of the software development life cycle
- Coach teams on up to date methodologies and overall processes driving continuous improvement
- Proven experience in change management, status reporting, and risk management.
- Experience with web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, .Net, CSS, SQL Server
- Experience in Amazon Web Services
- Experience working with large databases
- Project management skills; proven leadership ability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines
- Experience with scaling and performance tuning of web applications
