Performs activities relating to designing, building, testing, implementing and maintaining IT Real-Time solutions and processes for Energy Management Systems.
Provides technical expertise and support high quality delivery and high availability operational support of IT solutions. Able to work independently under minimal or general supervision. Operates and performs under NERC/CIP compliancy guidelines and requirements.
You will be trusted to:
Provide 24x7 Transmission SCADA applications operational support including system fixes, minor enhancements to various SCADA related systems (vendor packages and custom built), resolve system and customer issues in a timely manner.
Support system security and comply with security standards and hardening requirements
Analyze current technology utilized within the company and develop steps and processes to improve and expand upon them.
Provide clear goals for all areas of a project and develop steps to oversee their timely execution
Mentor and seek to continually improve processes companywide
Work alongside peers to successfully monitor progress and implementation of initiatives
You qualify with:
- Six or more years of experience in the respective focus area.
- A degree(s) in computer science, information technology, telecommunications, engineering, or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
You are a great fit with:
Knowledge of EMS/Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) applications or prior work experience in a mission critical or controls environment.
Experience working on Linux based infrastructure and comfortable executing various Linux commands.
Working knowledge and deep understanding of C/C++, Python, Java, Shell scripting
Working knowledge of SQL, .NET, C#, Windows
Configuration and managing databases such as Oracle and SQL Server
Excellent troubleshooting and knowledge of various debugging tools in both Linux and Windows environment.
Working knowledge of various tools and open-source technologies.
Knowledge of JSON, XML, RestAPI, WebServices, Splunk will be a major plus
