Job Description

FAST creates market leading core software solutions for the insurance industry with award-winning flexible architecture. Our DevOps team manages and automates FAST infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS), as well as working with cutting edge IT, networking, security and monitoring tools.

Candidates must be proficient in problem solving and working both independently and as part of a larger group. We will teach technologies such as AWS, scripting (Groovy, ANT, PowerShell, Python, NodeJS), SDLC automation (.NET and Java), relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL), IIS, and device/server management (Windows, Linux). Candidates must be comfortable working with the Windows and Linux command line.

FAST seeks recent college graduates or those looking for change. The right candidate must pick up new concepts quickly and have a strong interest in learning and utilizing new technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide direct hands-on support in the design, deployment, administration, and monitoring of production systems at scale in an AWS cloud environment
  • Quickly respond to operational issues, cloud or network infrastructure, to minimize any interruption in services to customers
  • Able to understand scripting, triage automaton issues, and enhance as required
  • Assist with hardware and general IT support as required
  • Ability to participate in 24/7 cloud/infrastructure services environment
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Education/Training/Work Experience
  • Engineer: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
  • Excellent verbal communication, technical writing, organization, and time management skills
  • Comfortable working with virtualized Windows and Linux environments, as well as Windows PCs
Preferred Specialized Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledgeable in one or more scripting languages (Java, Python, PowerShell, C#, etc.)
  • General understanding of, or willingness to learn Amazon Web Services
  • Completed AWS certifications a strong plus
