PURPOSE:
This DevOps Engineer position will be hands-on implementing complex build pipelines, managing source code repos and deployments plans in the Azure DevOps platform for environments to support mobile development on both iOS and Android, as well as API development on the Mulesoft Anypoint platform. This position will be focused on supporting the activities of a team of developers and testers of mobile software apps to meet the needs of our clients in the clinical research space. This individual will apply functional knowledge and technical expertise in the design, implementation and maintenance of build pipelines and deployment scripts that will integrate mobile applications with complex operational systems. This individual has a passion for innovation, and is a hard-working, results-oriented DevOps expert who can communicate effectively and own the creation of world class DevOps capabilities to support mobile application and API development for some of the world's biggest companies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as DevOps implementation expert on complex mobile and API development projects leveraging Azure DevOps platform and the Microsoft App Center platform.
Design and implement robust pipelines and deployment management tools and strategies on the Azure DevOps platform in the clinical research industry
Interact with corporate and project team members to negotiate timelines, responsibilities and deliverables
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features in the DevOps environment
Accurately estimate the effort and time requirements of features and fixes
Utilizes source control, continuous integration and unit testing best practices
Provide input to continue to establish development best practices and standards for the organization
Recommend course of action regarding project issues/concerns, implement mitigation plans, then escalate risks and issues to senior IT management as necessary
Maintain knowledge of competitive and complementary products and experiences.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Minimum of 4 years of experience delivering complex DevOps solutions
Minimum of 2 years of experience leveraging the Azure DevOps platform to build such solutions
Experience with development tools such a Git, Maven and other Linux/MacOS command line tools
Experience delivering on a frequent Agile cadence
Ability to identify root causes of technical problems and recommend solutions
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
Possess an expert knowledge in software development tools, practices, and lifecycle methodologies
Must love working in fast paced, rapidly changing environment
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers and clients
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 4 years of DevOps or software development experience
Minimum of 2 years’ experience building pipelines and deployment scripts with the Azure DevOps platform.
Should additionally have strong communication and interpersonal skills
DESIRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google)
Experience with the Azure Dashboard, and with the Azure SQL Server product
Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies
Knowledge of the clinical drug development industry, procedures/processes, and regulatory standards is preferred but not required
