Modis, the leader in the IT & Engineering staffing industry, is currently interviewing candidates for the position of DevOps Engineer. This is a full-time, permanent position located Charlotte, NC.

Qualifications and Skills: * At least 5 years of combined experience in DevOps, Systems Administration, or Development.
- At least 3 years of experience supporting applications in a production environment.
- At least 3 years of experience writing code.
- Experience with administration of continuous integration tools such as GitLab
- Experience with automation/configuration management using either CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible or an equivalent
- Experience using AWS (strongly preferred), Azure, or GCP for an end-user facing workload.
- Experience in JavaScript or Python is a plus
- Experience with Container and Container Management frameworks. (ex. Docker and Swarm, AWS ECS)
- Experience working with and developing APIs is a plus.
- Experience with service-oriented architecture / microservices is a plus.
- Experience with log collection and analysis, builds and performance monitoring/tuning of infrastructure is a plus.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field is a plus
- Write and maintain webhooks and Lambda functions to audit infrastructure, create KPIs, and automate CI/CD and data pipelines.
- Write reusable, testable, and efficient code.
- Lead ongoing efforts to automate deployments.
- Assist development teams with debugging infrastructure and automation issues.
- Ensure that sufficient monitors and alerts are in place and help the broader engineering team.
- Standardize, and maintain common development tools and infrastructure, such as CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, infrastructure provisioning, config management, etc.
- Create infrastructure as code to dynamically provision to manage infrastructure.
- Work with other engineering teams to identify and implement infrastructure, CI/CD, monitoring etc. improvements.
