The Cloud Engineer has experience Architecting, engineering, implementing, and maintaining solutions for IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS offerings in a hybrid and Azure cloud native enterprise environment. The Cloud Engineer position will also be responsible for providing support for Cloud migration. The Cloud Engineer is a member of the Architecture, Systems and Services Team and is responsible for participating in strategic team projects and day to day tactical work focused on time sensitive projects delivery while maintaining highly available systems. The cloud engineer works closely with software engineering leads, managers, and database administrators. The Cloud Engineer must have extensive working knowledge in managing/maintaining traditional on-premises data centers so that they will be effective in migrating workloads to the cloud. The successful Cloud Engineer must stay abreast of detail oriented standards, trends and issues affecting their set of responsibilities, demonstrating continuous learning. Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following: Create and maintain strategy for establishing a secure and well-managed enterprise environment in Azure Architect, Implement and automate the deployment of IaaS and PaaS services in Azure Design virtual networks to support workloads with the highest security and performance. Develop scripts to automate the deployment of resource stacks and associated configurations via PowerShell/Azure CLI/Bash/Terraform and DevOps Pipelines (DevOps methodologies-infrastructure as code) Migrate existing on-premise workloads to Azure PAAS and IAAS services. Manage/maintain/Migrate traditional datacenter technologies (WAN.LAN, SAN, Virtual Machines, Switches, Routers, Firewalls CDNs etc.) Utilize native Azure services to meet Virtuoso business continuity requirements Drive Identity and access and configuration management, and monitoring strategy for Azure Lead design process for network connectivity to Azure Establish and implement monitoring and management infrastructure for both availability and performance management. Establish internal pricing and instance selection model for Azure virtual machines Design and implement data protection options, including HA and BCP protection in Azure Educational & Skills Requirements: 10+ years of experience as a full time IT detail oriented 3+ years of experience designing and supporting Azure environments, including IaaS and PaaS Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform Certification preferred (administrator/architect level) Hands on experience using the Azure administration portal and Azure CLI Demonstrable experience deploying enterprise workloads to Azure Knowledge of at least one other cloud hosting solution in addition to Azure (e.g. Google, AWS) Proficiency with PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages Experience designing and supporting enterprise core services as well as cloud deployments of these services Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Enterprise software products and services Ability to be On-Call after-hours for emergency support
