Robert Half Technology has an exciting opportunity for a DevOps Engineer who is proficient at and enjoys measuring and improving production performance and reliability of data services. The DevOps Engineer will leverage Big Data platforms and will be responsible for maturing the clients process across multiple technologies, environments and locations. The DevOps Engineer role is a long-term temporary contract opportunity for a client located in the Portland, OR area.
Your responsibilities in this role will include:
- Help manage day to day operations of the clients SaaS cloud data store deployments ensuring health and performance of platform
- Research and resolve technical issues found in production with immediate and long-term solutions
- Create tools to be used by automated systems and SaaS team members to remove toil
- Help to define best practices and operations guidelines for scale-in, scale-out, fault tolerance and upgrades
- Document decisions regarding technology choices, best practices and process flow
- Experience managing and using Cloud Foundry BOSH including building and maintaining releases
- Experience with Concourse pipeline system
- Metrics collection and monitoring (DataDog experience is a plus)
- 3-5 years of Linux Systems Admin experience
- 2 years experience in managing large scale production deployments of Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Ceph, or similar
- Scripting or Development experience across one or more programming languages (Shell, Python, Ruby, Golang)
- Experience operating on a cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with container technologies and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry)
