What You’ll Do:

The DevOps Linux Analyst II role will provide technical and operational support for Alight application technologies. This role includes participating in architectural analysis and review, application installation and configuration, systems performance profiling, infrastructure and middleware integration, and support of the applications running on primarily virtualized Linux and container environments.
  • Troubleshoots system issues and incidents of medium to high complexity.
  • Diagnoses and resolves complex software and hardware incident tickets within established SLAs.
  • Works closely with infrastructure and production support groups to develop, plan, and implement system enhancements and upgrades on Linux and containerized platforms.
  • Works closely with infrastructure and support groups to deploy and configure new applications into the infrastructure environment.
  • Demonstrates broad expertise across software and infrastructure components and continues expanding on that expertise.
  • Demonstrates solid problem-solving techniques across multiple areas of technology and operational models.
  • Gathers and analyzes business and technical requirements and translates those requirements into solutions which are communicated effectively.
  • Actively engages in incident restoration calls by assessing impacts, notifying stakeholders, identifying potential issues, and restoring service when within the scope of this role.
  • Produces solid technical documentation and seeks and incorporates feedback where appropriate.
  • May participate in a primary and secondary on-call rotations

What you’ll Need:
  • Bachelor/Master’s Degree in a technical field or relevant business experience
  • Computer application certifications, as applicable.
  • 5+ years of Experience in supporting Linux application environments.
  • Fundamental working knowledge of Linux Systems. Able to navigate Linux Systems through SecureCRT/Putty/Xwindows.
  • Experience working with continuous integration and development pipeline tools such as Jenkins, Jira, and Artifactory
  • A successful candidate will have working knowledge of many of the following technologies: TCP/IP, browsers, Java/J2EE, JSP, WebSphere, JBOSS, Tomcat, Docker, ELK, UNIX scripting, networking, encryption, web security, load balancing, SQL, Oracle, DB2, Linux, vCenter, and Apache Web Servers.
  • Experience in AWS and/or Azure cloud administration and New Relic monitoring and observability platform is preferable
