About the role:
Waters Corporation is currently seeking a DevOps Manager – eCommerce to lead and manage our web/eCommerce & e-Procurement DevOps SRE team as a part of Digital Transformation. This role will be a point of contact for the DevOps and environment management of the web/eCommerce & e-Procurement platform. This role will establish and improve best practices around DevOps, release, and environment management. This role will improve the automation of the CI-CD pipeline, enhance the release and environment management of the web/eCommerce & e-Procurement platform. This role will coordinate with all stakeholders including product teams and other cross-functional teams, as needed.
We are looking for a passionate and hands-on individual with an ability to lead, learn, and adapt. You will work as part of an agile team and engage in discussions, and be willing to present and share ideas.

Responsibilities
- Manage the team of DevOps engineers
- Build, hire, and mentor the team members
- Build and establish best industry practices in source code, build, and release management
- Build, improve, and mature automated continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) release pipelines that package, test and deploy code
- Measure the improvements in CI-CD pipelines
- Collaborate with other teams including Infrastructure and Info Security
- Evaluate and onboard new tools as needed for CI-CD
- Provide release support for enterprise initiative, upgrades, production hotfixes, and platform maintenance (such as patching, cert renewal, etc.)
- Manage responsibilities of supporting the build and release needs of agile teams
- Develop environment strategy and perform environment management
- Create/maintain infrastructure inventory and maintain software/version levels
- Create/maintain release history for all environments
- Plan/co-ordinate availability of non-production environments and it’s allocation
- Schedule environment refresh and coordinate with relevant teams
- Schedule maintenance work and coordinate with relevant teams
- Act as point of escalation for non-production platform issues and drive the issue to closure
- Co-ordinate infrastructure upgrades and changes with the Infrastructure Team
- Document knowledge articles and create/maintain a knowledge repository
- Available during non-core hours such as an early morning or late night, especially during release, etc.
- Perform resource planning, leave management, and performance reviews
- Be open to shoulder additional or changed responsibilities within platform management engineering team
Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical degree preferred but not required.
- 10+ years of experience in build and release engineering and/or DevOps
- Recent 5+ years of experience in source control management, branching and merging strategies (Bitbucket preferred)
- Recent 5+ years of experience developing and supporting CI/CD pipelines (Bamboo/GitHub preferred)
- Recent 5+ years of experience in collaborating with enterprise initiatives
- Recent 5+ years of experience in managing functional and technical releases
- Recent 5+ years of experience in environmental management, environment provisioning, and support
- Recent 2+ years of experience with agile processes, including experience with Atlassian tools (Confluence and Jira)
- Worked as a Dev Ops Manager with experience in managing and leading onsite and offshore team members
- Good mentoring skill with experience in training and mentoring less experienced team members
- Ability to effectively learn and use new concepts, tools, and methodology to support the needs of the business
- Good documenting skill with experience in building knowledge base repository
- Understanding of web services, REST and XML concepts, and developer tools
- Scripting Languages: Shell, Bash, Python
- Build Tools: Bamboo, Jenkins, Ant, Maven
- Config Management Tools: Terraform, Ansible, Puppet
