We are seeking a talented DevOps Engineer / Release Engineer who will be responsible for design and development of CI/CD process flows for current and new software. You will collaborate and work closely with developers and technical leads to build, maintain, troubleshoot, deploy, and host current/future software applications to internal and Cloud infrastructure. We are seeking a talented DevOps Engineer / Release Engineer who will be responsible for design and development of CI/CD process flows for current and new software. You will collaborate and work closely with developers and technical leads to build, maintain, troubleshoot, deploy, and host current/future software applications to internal and Cloud infrastructure. In addition, you will ensure and administer a repeatable, high-quality release process for all R1products.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the creation of scripts to automate common tasks and application deployments.
- Assist development teams with merging, branching, and staging releases.
- Assist managing code repositories, improving practices of branching and merging code, and establishing process control points
- Assist in performance tuning, load testing, and optimization of software services and applications, maintenance, and support of the production environment
- Help streamline software development by contributing to implementation of a continuous integration process and automating manual processes
- Contribute features that range from services provisioning on PaaS/IaaS, build/deployment automation / configuration, Jenkins CI, Buildmaster, GitHub Actions, Azure pipelines and IIS / Nodejs / Net application development and other Visual Studio applications
- Document standard processes for the operation, maintenance, design, and function of deployment environments
- Build and manage multiple components of web infrastructure focusing on continuous integration, automated software releases, configuration management and system management in a high-availability cloud environment (AWS + Azure)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related degree or equivalent work experience in specified role
- Minimum of 1 year of development experience
- Fundamental experience in MS stack, distributed systems, high availability and services for infrastructure
- At least 2 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer with hands-on experience with automating all stages of the SDLC
- Experience supporting 24x7, high availability internet application environments that include web, application and database servers and load balancing systems
- Experience with a cloud-based, enterprise platform running on Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS). An understanding of designing environments with security, high availability, and monitoring as cornerstones
- Demonstrable scripting ability in PowerShell or other scripting languages
- Understanding of networks, including subnets, VPN, firewalls, and load balancing
- Experience with CI using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, utilizing MSBuild, Groovy, YAML, writing end-to-end pipeline scripts.
- Experience with build automation and configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible) and deployment tools (e.g. Buildmaster)
- Demonstrable ability to debug build issues in C++, .Net, Java, XAML, SQL, Scripts, PowerShell, Docker, Linux and Windows, Deployment unit testing
- SQL Server knowledge (TSQL, clustering and replication)
- Experience in Windows server administration; Linux server administration
- Knowledge of Microservices
- Knowledge of agile processes (Scrum / Kanban)
- Docker / containerization experience in Windows at scale
- Practical knowledge of technologies such as Restful APIs, Web API, ASP .Net, .Net Core, MVC (4+), Java, and Microsoft web technology stack
- Basic knowledge of Azure Service Fabric
- Basic knowledge of SQL and of the relational database concepts.
- Experience with web security and the different techniques available for Authentication, Authorization and web server access control
- Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively in both technical and business environments
- Initiative to work independently, but also ability to accept and follow instructions
