DataArt is engaged in modernizing the IT systems of a commercial bank with about $2 billion in assets. The range of services the bank provides to its customers is constantly expanding, so is the number of clients. Today there are several millions clients. This leads to the need for the bank to constantly expand the capabilities of its IT system. For this purpose, the most advanced technologies are used. DataArt specialists are helping to implement them.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Our specialists develop, test, and support client applications and parts of the internal bank system. All of them have to work fast and under high load, at the same time they have to provide the possibility to implement new features. The applications we create help to keep the financial history of the clients and analyze financial flows. DataArt also integrates the applications with payment systems and other external services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Research, integration testing, and implementation of PaaS platform components based on K8s: API Gateways, Service Mesh, security hardening policies
· Participate in the improvement of SRE practices as part of K8s’ platform maintenance
· Platform maintenance: component upgrades, troubleshooting issues, on-call participation as a part of the SRE team
REQUIREMENTS
· Expertise in K8s architecture and the interaction of the platform’s components: ETCD, controllers, kubelet interaction with runtimes, kube-proxy, etc.
· Expertise in integrating low-level K8s components: CN1, CR1
· Solid understanding of K8s’ 2nd day operations: how to generate the correct system component alerts, how to update masters and workers, what to do with certificates
· Understanding of how to work with hooks, why fine-tuning is needed (OPA Gatekeeper).
· Experience in migrating large projects to K8s
· Basic knowledge of Go or a willingness to learn
· Expert understanding and ability to implement laC principles: Terraform, Ansible, full CI with linters and test runs, etc.
· Knowledge of at least one programming language (Java, Python, C#, JavaScript)
NICE TO HAVE
· Networking knowledge of how to integrate Calico with IP Fabric
· Experience with ServiceMesh: Istio or Consul Connect
· Experience with Ingress Controllers not on Nginx
