Job Title Director of Information Technology

Job Purpose

The Director of Information Technology will increase focus and visibility for Core Services & Data Streaming, drive accountability and quality, roadmap delivery, appropriate level of innovation and transformation through standardization for the industry and sustain engineering managed. The Director will lead delivery of teams across development and implementation processes and resources through alignment and appropriate prioritization.

ESSENSTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leads team and others through strategic organizational change initiatives
  • Partners with Account Management and senior leadership to deliver strategic roadmaps
  • Oversees development and delivery while be the single escalation point to senior leadership
  • Structures team to ensure engagement and alignment of resources and skills to address support, development and client delivery expectations per roadmap
  • Able to lead managers and technologists, groom and build succession plan.
  • Strong background in software development, and good understanding of modern practices like cloud, devops, agile, APIs etc.
  • Establishes portfolio management with appropriate stakeholder engagement
  • Builds structure and succession, grooms team leaders to be able to operate without day to day guidance, establish clear roles and responsibilities and process owners to enable the team/organization to become self-standing addressing single points of failure and make it process dependent.
  • Ensures investment in appropriate documentation for the platforms to allow for supportability, risk mitigation through cross training and support new resource onboarding
  • Leverages off-shore resourcing effectively with investment in pre-requisites, work allocation and guidance, creates culture of trust to off-shore certain projects with oversight
  • Invests in resource capacity management process for improved portfolio management across build, run, and implement work requests and projects
  • Participates in project planning; determines project needs in advance and establishes the appropriate timeline to complete projects on time.
  • Ensures risk management and prompt escalation/awareness to appropriate sr. leadership teams while working through the mitigations
  • Aligns stakeholders on custom/exception requirements and seeks alignment on direction for execution
  • Advocates compliance and understands the importance of governance processes for architecture DAR and other ITSM, change management best practices
  • Delivers metric driven approach to measure progress on platforms across SDLC KPIs and Support
  • Support a culture that rewards success, promotes accountability, and encourages collaboration.
  • Keeps current on present and future technologies and ensure development staff has opportunities to do the same

  • Strong customer focus; sense of urgency and flexibility during to changing circumstances
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to drive customer issues to resolution by managing internal resources and detailed communications
  • Lead development of quality RCAs, use of standard templates, reviews and accuracy
  • Strong leadership and staff development skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Timely project, weekly status reporting and excellent time management with prioritization across detail level work and leadership level engagement
