RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client, a growing nationwide and established company is seeking a few Embedded Software Engineers due to the growth of the company. We are working directly with the Hiring Manager. Responsibilities:
  • Will design and develop embedded software for product control
  • Design and develop off-product software tools for diagnostics, logging, and configuration
  • Troubleshoot system level issues
  • Work with key stakeholders, develop product specifications and design criteria, ensure all customer requirements are satisfied
  • Collaborate with a cross functional team of engineers in the development of the software and electrical systems
  • Generate engineering requirements and design documents; Author and execute test plans/processes for software verification and validation
REQUIREMENTS:
  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or another related field
  • 2-4+ years of experience of programing experience in C++
  • Experience with system and software integration, which includes debugging system level problems with software diagnostics
  • Strong skills in modular and object-oriented design and coding
  • Understanding of software lifecycle, coding standards, and Git based software version control
  • Development in an embedded software development environment IDE's
  • Experience using Python on a Raspberry Pi, Beagle Bone, or similar to develop custom test and measurement tools is a plus
  • A desire to work in a collaborative team to develop next generation electric motor control systems and autonomous systems
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot system-level problems
Preferred but not required:
  • DevOps experience
  • Experience with VMware, Virtual Box, and/or Docker
  • Experience with Atlassian products
  • Experience in scripting languages, Python/Bash, for automated data collection, processing, and analysis
  • Automotive industry experience or other highly regulated industry would be ideal
  • Experience with Controller Area Network (CAN) bus is a plus
  • FreeRTOS or other distributed and real time operating systems (RTOS) such as Linux and/or VxWorks
  • Experience providing technical guidance to other engineers
  • Understanding safety standards, such as UL, and developing software adhering to safety standards
