The Consumer Lending Technology (CLT) group executes the Wells Fargo Technology strategy and offers a strategic technology perspective to the lines of business (LOBs) we support. These LOBs include Auto; Card, Retail & Merchant Services; Home Lending; and Personal Loans within Consumer Lending. Our teams provide technology solutions to the LOBs and manage the application portfolios through the enablers of skills, stability, security, scalability, speed, and satisfaction.

In this role as Leader of Architecture Modernization, you will be responsible for leading modernization of the vast Consumer Lending technology ecosystem towards adoption of Cloud, migration to Microservices-based architecture, utilization of modern technologies across the entire technology stack, and alignment of architecture practices with Customer Journey/Product Taxonomy and Agile delivery.

Set and Drive Cloud and Modernization Agenda
- Drive wide-spread adoption of Cloud.
- Define aggressive modernization targets and drive successful execution of modernization initiatives.
- Lead rationalization of application portfolio based on Modernization/Cloud Agenda.
- Establish modern and forward looking target state architecture.
- Focus architecture direction around the broader areas of Digitization, Cloud, Microservices, Events, API's, and SRE.
- Transform how Architecture Practice engages with Business and Technology teams in Agile Execution environment.
- Establish deep Domain Driven Design practices across Technology and Business.
- Foster Community of Practices around modern technologies, platforms, and engineering practices.
- Drive consistent and wide-spread adoption of CTO initiatives across CLT.
- Actively influence CTO's Modernization agenda.
- Partner with CLT Line of Business leaders to advance adoption of the target state architecture in Home Lending, Card, Auto, and Personal Lending.
- Collaborate with CLT SRE and Platform Engineering organization in aligning Dev/Ops and SRE practices with the target state architecture.
- Collaborate across Wells Fargo architecture functions.
- Ensure alignment of architecture with Customer Journey/Product Taxonomy.
- Take accountability for defining target state technology vision for a line of business & establishing a plan of execution.
- Lead architecture related discussions with Consumer Lending executive and senior business leaders.
- Act as the key member of a Line of Business Product Cabinet.
- Grow next generation of senior technology leaders.
- Align organization around clear objectives and key results.
- Attract and grow diverse talent.
- Set clear goals for direct reports, coach, provide growth opportunities, recognize performance, and make team members visible throughout the larger organization.

Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of technology engineering experience
- 6+ years of leadership and people management experience in a technology environment
- 5+ years of experience with strategic planning in technology
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
- 5+ years of Agile experience
- Experience leading medium and large-scale program architecture solutions
- Experience leading and executing complex technology transformational programs across an enterprise
- Technical and business architecture experience

- 6+ years of experience leading an architecture practice
- 5+ years of experience with modern software engineering technologies and tool sets.

- Demonstrated experience leading technology transformations preferably building and implementing Site Reliability Engineering practices.

- Demonstrated experience in building, leading, developing and retaining a high performing team of leaders, strong technical experts and high performing professionals in a cultural environment that achieves results through team member engagement and satisfaction.

- Demonstrated ability to manage technology efforts across several lines of business and effectively partner/influence at a senior executive level.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the financial, operational, technical and regulatory drivers impacting a complex and dynamic global technology environment.
- Ability to develop technology strategy, operating model & roadmaps with clear objectives and aligned with business, enterprise and WFT strategies.
- Broad experience across multiple areas of technology including one or more of architecture, infrastructure, application development and engineering.
- Proven experience as a highly effective leader with credibility from demonstrating strong business and technology acumen.
- Highly effective decision-making/critical thinking/problem solving skills with a collaborative and results oriented leadership style.
- Demonstrated ability to consult with key business partners and translate complex, technical concepts so that they are clearly understood in support of sound decisions to meet business objectives.
- Demonstrated experience motivating and influencing groups or individuals across organizational boundaries to gain trust and confidence to make timely decisions.
- Proven experience in establishing a vision, developing the strategy to support the vision, gaining consensus across key functional leadership through effective communication, and driving action towards the vision through the effective management of goals and objectives.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) with ability to communicate at multiple levels ranging from technologists to senior managers and executive leadership.
