The Engineering Senior Manager will lead an agile engineering team supporting technology solutions development for a broad portfolio of products within a Line of Business. Partner with senior product leaders, lead systems architects, and engineering managers to develop product functional and technical strategies for the LOB product portfolio. Provide expertise and thought leadership in the portfolio domain and leverage external perspectives, trends, and research to inform development of actionable strategies and plans. Oversee engineering teams to deliver commitments aligned to LOB strategic priorities. Mentor and guide the development of engineering managers and senior engineering leads. Supports financial forecast and budget development. Collaborate within and across agile teams and organizations to design, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and methodologies. Provides oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providers. Works to continuously improve software engineering practices and velocity of teams. Support implementation of projects and features for a product portfolio within a LOB. Projects may have enterprise-wide impact. Partner with senior product leaders to drive strategic outcomes. Ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met. Provides technology risk oversight for product and application portfolio. May recommend risk management requirements for supported area and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives. Primary Interface with third party vendors and technology service providers supporting products within the portfolio. May interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies and/or industry forums. Lead a large team of mid to senior-level engineers and/or lower level engineering managers.
The WIM Technology Senior Engineering Manager is responsible for the management of the Trust Middle office technology functions. This leader is responsible for leading the teams that manage and develop the systems supporting various trust middle office applications. This senior leader is going to be a key part of the Trust Technology leadership team, defining and executing on the overall Technology and WIM strategy. This leader must establish key relationships and influence at a senior level across all key functions in Technology, WIM, Risk, Compliance and key vendors.
This leader will leverage a broad understanding of Technology from all perspectives including Infrastructure Management, Application Management and the business delivery model of Technology to develop strategy and capabilities. This leader also manages strategic vendor relationships and a portfolio of applications, working closely with strategy and architecture functions to develop applications and other technology to align with WIMT’s architectural vision.

- Manage demand for system work and enhancements to WIM Technology guidelines and requirements.
- Ensure technology services provided to business functions of WIM are performing and meeting critical needs.
- Ensure system portfolio conforms to the requirements of Technology, Risk and Information Security.

- Manage vendor relationships to specifications of Governance structures and Enterprise Information Security (EIS) requirements

- Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented employees, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing employees, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of technology engineering experience
- 6+ years of leadership and people management experience in a technology environment
- 5+ years of experience with strategic planning in technology
- 5+ years of application development experience
- 5 + years of experience managing application development teams
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
- 5 + years of experience managing geographically diverse teams including both multiple domestic and off-shore locations
- 5+ years of brokerage or wealth management experience
- A Master's degree or higher in science or technology
- 4+ years of Agile experience
- Experience designing and developing learning for complex technology systems and processes including Agile development methodology environments
- Ability to transform a team while delivering superior results and execution
Other Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years managing cloud-native development with microservices, PCF, CI/CD, Kafka, and Docker
- A broad understanding of IT from all perspectives including Technology Strategy, Technology Architecture, Infrastructure Management, Application Management, and the IT business delivery model.
- Broad understanding of, and demonstrated ability to manage a large, complex technology portfolio (architecture, infrastructure, application development) across critical lines of business and effectively partner/influence at the senior executive level.
- Broad experience across multiple areas of technology with a strong understanding of leading edge as well as legacy and distributed technologies to effectively manage a complex and diverse application portfolio.
- Experience managing team under an enterprise agile framework (e.g. SAFE), including test-driven development practices and test automation
- 3+ years managing Agile teams including use of tools such as Jira and Confluence
- 5+ years of managing a development team
- Knowledge of Big Data platform and data pipeline development
- Experience working in DevOps model
- Ability to lead teams through engineering transformation
- Demonstrated experience in building, leading, developing and retaining a high-performing team of leaders and strong technical experts and high-performing professionals in an environment that achieves results through team member engagement and satisfaction.

Job Expectations
- Flexibility to address incidents as needed 24 hours a day
