Primary Responsibilities:
We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer to work closely with other like-minded engineers, product, and design team members to build and evolve venture technology to meet our customers’ needs.
Education and Experience Required:
Minimum of an Associate’s degree and 5 years’ systems analysis/application development experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years’ systems analysis/application development experience

Primary Responsibilities:
- Build responsive, mobile-friendly web applications and software products
- Implement new features in a highly-collaborative environment alongside product managers, UI/UX experts, and fellow engineers
- Lead discussions and influence decisions that drive architecture
- Provide highly analytical consulting and leadership in identifying and implementing new uses of information technologies to assist business partners in meeting strategic objectives
- Understand and advocate on behalf of industry best practices
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management
- Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand
- Complete other related duties or projects as required, which may include playing a lead role in due diligence, cost/benefit analysis or business study activities
We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer to work closely with other like-minded engineers, product, and design team members to build and evolve venture technology to meet our customers’ needs.
Education and Experience Required:
Minimum of an Associate’s degree and 5 years’ systems analysis/application development experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years’ systems analysis/application development experience
Education and Experience Preferred:
- 5+ years Software Engineering experience with expertise developing Java applications and working with the JVM
- 2+ years experience developing modern frontend interfaces via JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, etc.
- Experience designing and developing service-based architectures
- Experience implementing data persistence using both SQL and NoSQL (e.g.: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB etc.)
- Experience with containerized applications and deployments
- Exposure to distributed tracing and performance optimization techniques
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent knowledge of software engineering best practices (e.g. Agile and lean software development, TDD, code reviews, design documentation, etc.)
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years leveraging the Spring framework and extensions (i.e. Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Integration, etc.)
- Experience with Hibernate/JPA and DB migration frameworks
- Proficiency with React, Redux/Redux Saga-Hooks, NodeJS, etc.
- Familiarity or experience with microservices architectures
- Experience with the Amazon Web Services (AWS) ecosystem
- Experience building cloud-native, fault-tolerant production applications
- Enterprise experience with Docker and Kubernetes (K8s)
- Experience with secure CI/CD and cloud automation practices (DevOps / DevSecOps)
- Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design
- Understanding of PKI and encryption best practices and familiarity with security standards (i.e. NIST, SOC, etc.)
- Experience with authentication and authorization protocols (i.e. OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, etc.)
- Experience with native and/or hybrid mobile development (e.g.: iOS, Android, PhoneGap, Ionic, etc.)
