The role at a Glance:

As an ERM full stack developer you'll have the unique opportunity to work in all areas of risk, all lines of business, and all areas of IT. You'll be integral in supporting the continued development and implementation of Lincoln Financial Group's best-in-class ERM program with an emphasis on leveraging advanced technologies to enhance and integrate risk theory and practice.

You'll leverage your creativity, passion and experience to design, code, test, deploy and monitor technology solutions using Agile development processes and CI/CD practices within a DevOps culture. You'll be working at the forefront of innovation in a fast-paced environment as ERM begins its technology transformation journey to the cloud to achieve its strategic goals. You'll work closely with actuaries, analysts, quants, and data scientists to architect, develop, and maintain data pipelines, dynamic reports, and machine learning/quant models.

What you'll be doing:
  • Designing and implementing OLTP and OLAP data models
  • Designing and implementing secure AWS microservices using Lambda, API Gateway, RESTful webservices, CloudWatch, Splunk, etc.
  • Programming in SQL, C#, Python, JavaScript, and C++ using software engineering design patterns
  • Building Linux and .Net Core applications that run on Spark, HIVE, and HPC
  • Supporting analysts, actuaries, and quants with self-service analytics tools, such as Tableau, Dataiku Data Science Studio, and Power BI
  • Maintaining abreast of cutting-edge technologies and industry trends
What we're looking for:

Must-Have

  • 1-3+ years developing and maintaining scalable, robust, production quality three-tier applications
  • Bachelor's degree is required in computer science or computer engineering (advanced degree preferred)
  • An understanding and implementing software engineering and data pipeline design patterns
  • Some experience working with Agile teams, CI/CD and DevOps
Some experience with a few of the following technologies:
  • Linux OS or .Net Core framework
  • AWS microservices and RESTful webservices
  • Programming using one of the following: SQL, Python, C#, C++
  • SQL Server, Redshift
  • Docker, and Kubernetes
  • GitLab
Really Nice-to-Have
  • AWS and other technology certifications are a plus
  • Building FinTech solutions (Investment and Insurance a plus!)
  • AWS technologies: CDK/YML, CLI, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, Splunk
  • AWS S3, AWS EBS, AWS RDS
Nice-to-Have
  • Working knowledge of Tableau and Power BI
  • Familiar with data governance best practices
Some experience with:
  • ETL type technologies
  • Dataiku Data Science Studio
  • Data Catalogs and Dictionaries
  • Doxygen or other code documenting tools
  • MySQL, and HIVE
  • JavaScript, TypeScript
  • Building applications that run on HPC and/or Spark
