Consumer & Small Business Banking (CSSB)
Consumer and Small Business Banking (CSBB) provides financial services to 21 million retail bank households and three million small business customers through approximately 4,900 retail branches, 17 customer service centers, and approximately 13,000 ATMs in 36 states and the District of Columbia. We serve and help individuals and families in many aspects of their lives, helping them buy homes, open first bank and savings accounts, buy cars to get to and from work or school, and start or grow small businesses. CSBB is focused on innovating and transforming with the customer at the center, better enabling customers to engage with us how, when, and wherever they choose. As an industry leader in many consumer and small business areas – including retail deposits, debit card transaction and purchase volume, and small business lending – our primary goal is delivering for our customers.
Consumer Lending (CL)
Wells Fargo’s Consumer Lending businesses include Home Lending, Auto, Credit Cards, Retail & Merchant Services, Personal Lending, Consumer Lending Control, and Consumer Lending Operations. Consumer Lending provides important products and services that are critical to helping our customers meet their financial needs. The Consumer Lending team partners with other businesses across Wells Fargo to create and deliver transformational experiences that help customers gain access to credit. Our broad suite of products help customers buy or refinance a home, purchase an automobile, or pay for other important personal needs. Consumer Lending serves millions of customers across the country through our distribution network of more than 5,300 retail banking branches and Home Lending offices as well as online and digital channels.
Wealth & Investment Management (WIM)
Wealth & Investment Management (WIM) is one of the nation’s leading providers of financial and investment services with employees present in all 50 states. WIM provides a full range of personalized wealth management, investment, and retirement products and services to meet clients’ unique needs and help them achieve financial goals. Our businesses include Wells Fargo Advisors (WFA), Private Wealth Management (PWM includes The Private Bank and Abbot Downing), and Wells Fargo Asset Management (WFAM). WIM administers $1.9 trillion in client assets, including $142 billion in deposits, and has $76 billion in loans.

The Consumer Data and Engagement Platform (CDEP)
The CDEP group works across the CSBB, Consumer Lending, and Wealth and Investment Management lines of business to develop coordinated strategies for growth in each of Wells Fargo's customer segments. The team is responsible for designing seamless, engaging customer experiences across products and channels, and building the next-generation digital, data and analytics, and functional capabilities required to deliver toward these objectives.
The Role
Wells Fargo is in the midst of a strategic transformation around how we work and where we focus our attention. This leader will partner across Wells Fargo Consumer Lines of Businesses (Consumer & Small Business Banking, Lending and Wealth Management) to drive alignment in our business agile transformation approaches in partnership with technology and other enterprise transformation counterparts. The incumbent will be key to ensuring alignment across our consumer businesses and our technology partners.
The Head of Consumer Business Agile Strategy will be responsible for bringing together the consumer lines of businesses’ Agile Transformation leaders and driving consistency and alignment across approach to portfolio of technology work, practices, governance and reporting. The incumbent will also partner with the Strategy, Digital & Innovation and Technology Agile leaders to inform and evolve the enterprise agile strategy on behalf of Wells Fargo’s Consumer Businesses. - Establish Community of Practice with the Consumer Agile Transformation partners to understand needs, current state & drive to future-state vision, with continuous improvement
- Partner with the consumer & enterprise agile transformation leaders to develop construct to enable common product architecture as embedded way of working across both business and technology
- Partner with enterprise agile transformation leaders to inform the enterprise agile strategy on behalf of the Wells Fargo Consumer Businesses, including:
- Consistent portfolio definitions & taxonomy
- Influence enterprise change management activities & evolve target-state operating model (including work intake and annual planning), management routines, reporting, etc.
- Target state interaction with support teams such as Finance, Legal, Compliance, etc and DevOps model
- Common agile maturity assessment for technology and business
- Ensure agile tools support agreed upon portfolio model, business needs & related reporting
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have experience as a leader within a large scale, matrixed organization with demonstrated ability to create and execute Agile Strategy & Transformation programs. This leader will have experience building & leading high performing teams focused on driving change through leadership, strong partnerships & team member engagement.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following functional areas: business process, quality assurance, strategic planning, or project management
- 8+ years of management experience
Other Desired Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience leading agile transformation efforts within a Business organization; and strong partnership with technology agile transformation leaders
- Proven executive with strong strategic and analytical skills as well as strong process orientation, change management and communications acumen
- Experience navigating situations without pre-defined path with ability to understand current ways of working and prepare for potential and future challenges and roadblocks
- Demonstrated experience in building strong relationships with business, technology and controls executives
- Creative and strategic thinking skills, including the ability to analyze business issues and identify key risks/mitigating controls
- Strong communicator and motivator, with effective listening and presentation skills, to build relationships and influence teams outside span of control
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
- Knowledge and understanding of strategic planning and execution
- Knowledge and understanding of financial services
- Proven leader that is results-oriented with sense of urgency and ability to mobilize resources to accomplish business results
- Demonstrated experience collaborating and influencing across multiple partner and/or product groups
