Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Responsibility for maintaining the availability, security, integrity, performance & enhancements of internal IT systems infrastructure, which includes Windows servers, LAN network , PABX & voice mail systems
- Install and configure desktop pc’s, laptops, smart phones and mobile devices with appropriate software applications according to Global IT standards and IT guidelines
- Phase-in /phase-out of HW and SW and Inventory Management
- Perform IT service desk operations for all support issues relating to internal systems infrastructure, hardware and software, investigating these issues and seeing them through to resolution with interfacing to Global IT 2nd level support teams
- Provide user training for basic applications
- Maintain appropriate records of warranties & license information, ensuring that licenses are kept up to date and are being used according to agreements in place
- Collaborate with Global IT staff and contractors to resolve IT incidents
- Actively build relationships with Global IT to further develop contacts within the IT organization
- Management of disaster recovery of local IT systems, including implementation of offsite storage and system back-ups
- Implement the Global IT policies and procedures
- Interacting with internal customers and working collaboratively with them
- Advise Financial Controller and Vice President Global IT of system upgrades and capital expenditure required for inclusion in budget, obtaining appropriate quotes in line with business requirements and Global IT guidelines
- Maintain knowledge of current, new and evolving strategies and technologies in relation to system support through appropriate industry links and professional memberships
- Other duties as required from time to time
- Critical Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum of 5 years commercial experience in a similar or related role
- Experience with system administration in a client-server environment and LAN technology
- Experience with VPN
- Experience with RAID
- Experience working with MS Windows services, registry, Active Directory and remote access technologies, DHCP, DNS
- Experience using Backup application
- Experience in working with VMWare
- Experience maintaining structured network cabling such as patch panels etc
- Vast working knowledge of supporting, diagnosing and troubleshooting diverse and varied environments with a particular focus on PC and Server Hardware, MS Operating Systems, TCPIP Networks
- Keen interest in providing a superior level of customer service and support to our internal employees
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong diagnostic and trouble-shooting skills
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- Ability to work autonomously or as a part of a team, whilst remaining motivated to achieve goals and objectives
- Resourcefulness, flexibility, sense of urgency
