Basic functions:

• Implementation of IT networking systems, ensure its reliability, and secure IT network operation.
• Implementation of Servers and supporting systems and ensure reliable and secure computing system operation.
• Support IT users and end user IT systems and devices, and coordinating with senior colleagues for implementing local projects.

Key functions and responsibilities:

• Lead all phases of complex multi-disciplined IT projects, including design, procurement, implementation and documentation.
• Become a subject matter expert in an IT network sub-specialty (e.g. Routing & switching, Network Security, Network monitoring and Performance).
• Gather requirements, design, install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot LAN switches technologies, Wi-Fi infrastructure technologies, WAN technologies, network security technologies, network monitoring/ configuration management tools and technologies, and Voice and video infrastructure technologies.
• Perform, independently or as a team member, all phases of complex computing server projects, including design, procurement, implementation and documentation.
• Maintain reliable server operations by setting up and operating different supporting technologies and services such as virtualization, data / system backup, security patching…etc.
• Suggest improvement in network designs to improve reliability, security and efficiency and work with vendors to resolve product bugs and propose new product features.
• Technically evaluate and compare different IT solutions and provide recommendation including cost benefit analysis.
• Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware to office users. Install and troubleshoot computer peripherals for users (such as printers, scanners, etc.).
• Research and create technical procedures training manuals and train computer users.
• Research troubleshoot and resolve special IT issues with minimal supervision.

Key technical skills and competencies:

• Data management and network storage access management.
• Basic knowledge about Microsoft services:
  • Knowledge about Microsoft E365 fundamentals preferably confirmed by MS-900 certificate.
  • Knowledge about Microsoft cloud services fundamentals preferably confirmed by AZ-900 certificate.
• Familiarity with administration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Hardware items storage and management.
• Network administration skills:
  • Knowledge of Nginx Server technology
  • L2/L3 switch/router configuration
  • Knowledge of KVM, PulseSecure
  • Knowledge of LDAP/AD
  • Gitlab management, including plugin installation and configuration. Integration with Kubernetes and Nginx will be useful.
• Knowledge of HPC fundamentals.
• Knowledge of Database management system fundamentals.
• Good communication skills in English (writing and speaking) are important. Please use a profile in English applying for this role.
