AIS has an opening for an IT Systems Engineer to engineer the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and efficacy of organizational Linux & related Windows Servers, databases, patch management requirements, automation strategies, and that of escalated technical support issues, and assists with managing administrative tasks.

- Assists in the engineering of AIS servers, including Windows, Linux, and virtual appliances.
- Responsible for the administration of desktop/laptop/server patch deployment and performs maintenance cycles.
- Assists in the engineering and setup and ongoing use of databases and applications.
- Manages and produces Ansible playbooks and other automation tool configurations for systems deployments. Assists in deployment strategies and code reviews.
- Administers and assists in engineering necessary container-based deployments for automation strategies as well as that of dedicated virtual systems.
- Works on implementing department projects and company initiatives as needed.
- Performs the account administration of multiple systems and services including authentication and audit systems.
- Advanced proficiency in utilizing code management tools and maintaining documentation of configurations.
- Provide excellent end user support and assists in escalated support requests for moderately complex items.
- Works with vendor support contacts to resolve hardware/software issues.
- Performs On-Call Duties as Required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance.
- U.S Citizenship required.
- Minimum 5 years experience administering Linux systems and servers.
- Minimum 4 years experience Experience in Linux Command Line Tools (User management, permissions, services, configuration).
- Minimum 3 years experience in DevOps tool chains (GitLab, Code Repositories, Code Review, Testing, & Deployment Management) Utilizing automation tools and scripting.
- Minimum 2 years experience in multiple virtualization environments (VMWare, Docker, Podman).
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Mac OS systems, networks, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
- Intermediate proficiency in of virtualization systems deployment in VMWare and containerized solutions.
- Intermediate knowledge of programming languages such as Python & Bash, other interpreted languages, and Ansible-related functions.
- Advanced knowledge of GiT, GitLab, Ubuntu, and RedHat systems.
- Ability to obtain/maintain a security certification such as Security+ or CISSP, and professional certification such as RHCSA, RHCE within 18 months of hire, and future certifications as required.
