About Applications Development at UPS Technology:
Our Application Development teams use their expertise in programming languages and software design to develop next-generation technology. They are responsible for developing the applications which track and move up to 38 million packages in a single day (4.7 billion annually). This team works closely with all of our customers to build innovative technologies that are customized to drive our business and provide the ultimate customer experience. As a member of the applications development family, you will help UPS grow and provide valuable services across the globe.
About this role:
The Applications Development Engineer is technical leader with advanced technical acumen. He/She will have varying roles within the Network Planning and Measurement Systems department. The ADE with interact and influence application development team peers (Application Development Managers and Application Architects). The ADE will act as a mentor to Lead and Senior Applications Developers. The candidate must be able to contribute hands-on with the creation technical solutions. He/She must be able to manage small teams/initiatives as required. Must be self-motivated and have the ability to rapidly learn new technologies.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Expert in Agile Development, Internet Development Architecture & Design, Java Programming, Linux Application Development and SQL Programming
- Expert in Test Driven Development (TDD), Continues Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD)
- Expert in DevOps tool sets Expert with Jenkins, Maven, GIT, Sonarqube
- Familiarity with OpenShift and Linux Scripting
- Must be a proven leader
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be a self-motivated learner
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent in education and work experience
