The Elevator Pitch: Why will you enjoy this new opportunity?
The VMware Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) platform allows companies to make it easy for employees to work anywhere, any time, on any device, without compromising security. But making things easy for our customers is extremely challenging for us, so we are looking for unique thinkers of varying backgrounds that want to take on such complex, highly technical, customer-impacting challenges. We, the UEM team, have a large customer base that spans across industry verticals including a majority of the Fortune 500 companies.
The Cloud Services team drives the reliability of core applications, services and infrastructure that make up our global SaaS offering. We own and maintain the full stack of the entire application in multiple global datacenters. We are also involved in the leading-edge use cases of the SaaS transformation of the product and work towards automated solutions for both infrastructure and the application.
The current team is a talented group of engineers who own production solutions while getting hands on with a wide variety of the latest and greatest open-source technologies, and love to push the boundaries of what cloud infrastructure software and tooling can achieve. We use a wide range of cloud platforms and technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, Packer, AWS, VMware on AWS, Docker, Elasticsearch, StackStorm etc. just to name a few. We enable our engineers to prepare, install and update SaaS workloads on our datacenters. We also serve the deployment tooling needs of internal Cloud Services and R&D teams.
As a leader for your team, you will have the latitude to enable teams to meet these complex demands as you see fit. Your support will help teams focus on building great technology by becoming better engineers.

By 12 months, work closely with leadership to define target dates and create roadmaps on how to accomplish several infrastructure and cloud automation related initiatives. This would be demonstrated by defining the vision for some (at least two) of our key deliverables around Application Automation, Infrastructure Automation, Logging, Vulnerability management etc.
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
