In this role, you will lead initiatives to improve efficiency and reliability via systems and data in one of the most dynamic, fast-paced networks in the world. Manager, Network Operations Foundation Responsibilities
Build and lead a team of DevOps engineers capable of scaling with Facebook through a period of continued high-growth while forging tight partnerships with cross-functional leaders.
Demonstrate an ability to structure an organization and optimize it for execution, including attracting top-tier talent and filing out gaps in the existing team quickly to accommodate growth.
Manage from the front, prioritize, and drive the bigger mission forward by translating vision into results.
Communicate cross-functionally across various teams, organizations and internal and external stakeholders (Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Traffic, Logistics, Program Management, and hardware partners) to drive infrastructure operations development and management.
Understand metrics and definitions of success to drive quality, efficiency, cost, and timeliness via the development of scalable software solutions and data products to deliver on those goals.
Influence and lead product execution strategy for multiple areas of network products and platforms.
Align automation and tooling direction to ensure sub-linear team growth as compared to business growth.
15% of travel (domestic and international).
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of people management experience with experience managing managers.
10+ years of experience either in building large scale enterprise product/systems or network products at scale.
Experience moving technical or engineering programs and products from inception to delivery and experience articulating the impact using metrics.
Network operations experience while supporting large-scale network infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline or equivalent technical experience.
Experience in implementing/maintaining the monitoring, alerting and repairing systems for production networks in a DevOps environment.
Experience evolving team capabilities around emerging technologies, such as AI/ML, internet of things, and augmented reality.
