Core Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering and ongoing support
- Perform systems administration and engineering to deploy and maintain the Virginia IT Agency Messaging Service (VITA MS)
- Build, run, and tune private and public cloud servers, mail transfer agents, and other mail related services.
- Lead technical response and resolution efforts to resolve incidents and problems, communicating and working with teammates and stakeholders
- Contribute to the design and documentation of the VITA MS solution research and document components as assigned in support of the Holistic Architecture Review Process (HARP). Maintain living documentation on an ongoing basis

- Review Operational Efficiency
- Provide and implement recommendations to increase operational effectiveness
- Collaborate with monitoring team colleagues to implement and maintain effective availability and performance monitoring of the Messaging Service systems and applications
- Utilize the results of monitoring telemetry and alerts to identify opportunities for increasing service levels and resolving issues
- Actively participate in Root Cause Analysis of incidents to identify, document, and respond to the lessons learned and improve operations
- Provide and implement recommendations to increase operational effectiveness
- Identify enhancements and improvements to user functionality
- Stay abreast of technology advancements, user requirements, and platform improvement opportunities to increase the efficiency of our solutions
