Job Responsibilities:
- The Power Platform Solution Architect proactively leads the adoption and maturity of the Microsoft Power Platform and related services. The Power Platform Solution Architect will strategically influence the trajectory of technology and solutions across the UST Accounts.
- The Power Platform Solution Architect is a subject matter expert in the domains of the Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft Dynamics 365 and champions cloud-native solutions, advising staff and leadership at all levels to enable and promote the effective and efficient use of modern approaches to collaboration and doing work.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform, architecture, capabilities, implementation requirements, integrations, and future roadmap;
- Demonstrate knowledge of compliance standards and regulatory requirements supported by the assigned cloud platform;
- Demonstrate ability to collaborate between business units, architecture, operations, and security on the development and implementation of solutions that meet operational and compliance standards while meeting relevant regulatory requirements;
- Work with strategic vendors to identify and maximize the usage of available vendor-provided enablement/adoption resources;
- Collaborating with Customers and Product Marketing / Management teams to identify opportunities that can be exploited through great software features.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Senior Business Analysts, and other client stakeholders
- Evangelize and strategize, in a pre-sale’s capacity, the current capabilities and services of Power Apps to peers, and other stakeholders, potentially at senior-most decision-making levels;
- Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including comfort with explaining complex matters to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Facilitate and champion a community of practice across state government for cloud solutions and platforms.
- Collaborate with IOT product owners to optimize current service offerings in relation to adoption requirements, budgetary allocation, new features, resources, processes, and technology impacts.
- Support the State Request for Proposal (RFP) process and other procurement needs, as appropriate.
- Mentor and coach technical staff in the transition to supporting modern platforms and cloud operations.
Primary Skill set
- On-the-job experience with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform, Dynamics 365, Power Apps, SharePoint, and Teams.
- On-the-job experience with providing direction and support to Power Platform and Dynamics 365 application lifecycle management and leveraging Power Apps patterns.
- On-the-job experience with a foundational knowledge of tools, techniques, and best practices of cloud service providers like Amazon Web Services; Google Cloud Platform; and Microsoft Azure.
- On-the-job experience with a foundational knowledge of tools, techniques, and best practices of identity and access management controls.
- On-the-job experience with a foundational knowledge of supporting hybrid cloud deployment scenarios.
- Fundamental understanding and familiarity of application development best practices and DevOps, especially as it relates to no-code/low-code development.
- Ability to be flexible in dynamic situations, potentially involving changes to schedules and workflow deliverables impacting both self and team, and situations managing competing deadlines and priorities.
- Ability to work successfully with a wide variety of stakeholders, including government representatives and vendors, and across teams of varying sizes.
- Ability to coach people to understand, use, and follow documented processes, including the willingness and ability to assist those with uncertainty or less technical understanding.
- Ability to manage time successfully in both a team and independent operator setting, with prior experience meeting project deliverable schedules and informing stakeholders of milestone needs.
- Ability to compare existing technologies, tools, resources, and capabilities in use with those in the marketplace to provide financially and practically sound assessments for optimizing a technology service portfolio -- including the elimination of redundancies and guidance on new purchases.
- Review understand and advocate for UST Power Apps Team's strategic goals toward providing secure and reliable infrastructure, systems, and services.
- Strong preference will be given to candidates with the Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert certification
Minimum Specifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a software related discipline. A Master’s degree in a related field is an added plus
- 5+ years of experience in Power Platform
- 12+ years of experience in strategic data planning, standards, procedures, and governance
- 12+ years of experience in data quality engineering, metadata consolidation and integration, metadata model development and maintenance, repository management, data warehouse design and data mining, and data security Experience in leveraging enterprise data warehouse modeling constructs, methodologies, and practices to ensure flexible, scalable, maintainable, and high-performing physical databases
- Hands on experience in integrating OTLP and ERP systems with big data/data lake repositories using ELT/ETL tools, preferably Informatica and Oracle .
- Hands on experience in implementing and using CI/CD framework technologies such as Jenkins or Bamboo .
- Experience with technologies and frameworks such as Hadoop, MapReduce, Pig, Hive, HBase, Flume, Zookeeper, MongoDB, NoSQL and Cassandra .
- Experience with Data warehousing and data mining .
- Strong experience in programming languages and latest technologies such Java, Javascript frameworks, RESTful Services, Spark, Scala, Python, Linux, Hive, Kafka, Redis, and Hortonworks
- SQL is must to have
- 5+ years of experience working as a member of an Agile team
