Enterprise Data Management (EDM) oversees the end-to-end database services and database lifecycle and ensures world-class leadership is provided while delivering innovation, secure and cost effective database solutions that benefit Wells Fargo, its customers and its shareholders. The successful candidate will lead a team of highly technical professions and be responsible for service and management of existing databases, integrating new database technologies and platforms into the Wells Fargo ecosystem.
This individual will serve as a thought leader in the database technology space and solutions reliability engineer supporting enterprise database operations and engineering teams. The role will be focused on building resilient & reliable database services, providing both hands on expertise and thought leadership to drive innovation. Requiring strong technical knowledge in database design, performance, application development patterns related to the database platform and use of the data layer, as well as a fundamental understanding of application development cycles, database architecture, systems engineering, DevOps & deployment systems, this role requires an integrative, multi-disciplinary approach. Additionally, an understanding of “cloud-native” technologies, tools, and processes is essential.

Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of engineering experience; or 10+ years of experience in a technical management role
Desired Qualifications
- A Masters degree or higher in computer science or finance
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Leadership skills including the ability to influence effectively in a matrix environment
- Knowledge and understanding of database capacity and performance analysis
Other Desired Qualifications
- 5 years experience management of cloud native technologies
- 7+ years of hands on SQL and PL/SQL optimization
- 5+ years of database object level design optimization
- 5+ years of experience of designing and building complex, resilient database systems
- Extensive knowledge of capacity planning and systems resource optimization as it relates to optimizing Oracle memory usage and resource consumption
- Extensive knowledge of application server connection pooling and session level optimization into the database
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of resiliency as it relates to database container strategy
