Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for a position located at Palmdale, CA. Successful candidate will design, develop, document, test and debug application software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions. Ensures software standards are met. Multiple shifts may be required.

This position emphasizes skills and experience. Must have 9 years’ experience in software engineering. Will consider Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or other related field with 5 years’ experience, or a Master’s degree with 3 years’ experience.
Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance and be able to maintain that clearance and have the ability to obtain and retain Special Program access clearance within 365 days from submission.

Salary Range: $101,200.00 - $151,800.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
