Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Process Improvement Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position may be located in Huntsville, AL or Colorado Springs, CO.

Position Overview:

The selected Principal Process Improvement Analyst will join the Missile Defense Solutions (MDS) Team to work on multiple programs within the Business Unit (BU).

Responsibilities will include the primary support of MDS BU knowledge management, and operations reporting and communications. Additional responsibilities include providing secondary support for process improvement and operational efficiency activities within the BU.

Essential Functions:
  • Serve as MDS BU Principles and Operating Practices (PrOP) framework owner and provide guidance in interpreting PrOP and associated/referenced policies, and regulatory and agency guidelines to assure compliance. Manage and drive PrOP enhancements, new PrOP development, and recurring PrOP review process.
  • Build relationships with program managers and functional staff to enable success in achieving portfolio goals / objectives
  • Assist with reporting rhythm for Business Unit requests for program/functional reporting as well as required reporting to Division and Sector (daily/weekly reporting, monthly reviews, metrics)
  • SharePoint administration, design, development, maintenance and linkage to OU and Functional sites
  • Track and assist with resolving resource needs – facilities, labs, IT assets
  • Liaise with the communications team to share information within the BU
  • Support the MDS leadership team and Operational Efficiency team to establish and track activities in an Agile environment
  • Interface with BU leadership for collaboration on processes, procedures, metrics

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university and 6 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 4 years of related experience
  • Six-Sigma Yellow Belt Certification
  • Proven success in supporting multiple process improvement teams/activities across programs or disciplines
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and self-manage a variety of improvement activities
  • Intermediate knowledge in:
  • Microsoft Office products
  • SharePoint
  • Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government security clearance at the DoD Secret level
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Proficient in:
  • SharePoint
  • Microsoft Office products
  • Basic understanding of Azure DevOps and/or Jira
  • A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance
Salary Range: $76,000.00 - $114,000.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
