The position:
The ITS 3 will provide project management expertise for delivering key university initiatives and assist team leads with planning, overseeing and leading projects from initiation to completion. This requires interaction with a range of internal and external stakeholders, most often managing several moving project parts simultaneously. This position will work directly with members of the President’s Cabinet to promote project management best practices, as well as set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize the progress of projects. Prepare status reports and projects and project portfolios. This position will focus on the implementation and delivery of the President’s It’s Time strategy working directly with each VP and President.
Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information technology, engineering, business administration or related field.
• 3 years of related project management experience managing multiple projects using Waterfall and Agile or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Excellent skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
• Project management skills sufficient to manage multiple projects simultaneously, create clear and attainable project objectives, build project requirements, oversee the cost, time and scope of projects, manage project constraints and communicate progress and end results.
• Strong written communication skills sufficient to write, prepare, and edit materials such as memos, procedures, reports, presentations, etc., using correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and sentence construction and clearly explaining complex technical ideas and procedures to varied technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong verbal communication skills sufficient to participate in discussions and communicate technical ideas and procedures to technical and non-technical staff and managers and present recommendations and reports to senior managers.
• Customer services skills sufficient to actively listen to and understand customer needs and provide accurate information and appropriate alternatives in a timely, thorough, courteous, respectful and professional manner in person, over the phone and in writing.)
Preferred qualifications:
• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information technology, engineering, business administration or related field.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Experience with business intelligence, warehouse, analytics and reporting solutions.
• Experience with data governance, sourcing and acquiring data assets.
• Experience with TeamDyanmix, Azure DevOps or similar software applications.
• Experience leading the scrum team in using Agile methodology and scrum practices; Ability to remove impediments and coach the scrum team on removing impediments
• Demonstrated ability to frame clear and complete requirements, identify process improvement opportunities and match systems and services to complex business needs and goals to provide advanced solutions.
• Strong knowledge of technology systems and services sufficient to frame and recommend systems and services which best meet requirements.
