Job Description
The Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple concurrent software development or maintenance activities associated with United States Air Force (USAF) aircraft Mission Planning Environments (MPE). Clearly articulate and document project status information to the Program Manager that will help the team accomplish a quality on-time delivery of contracted requirements.
Essential Job Functions:
Interface with and be the customer point of contact for the individual aircraft platform Mission Planning Environments (MPE). Respond to customer requests for information, briefs and formal proposals.
Lead the assigned DCS team/s to accomplish the project's objectives, within cost and schedule. Effectively manage single large projects or several small projects with different customers.
Monitor project performance; report to DCS leadership and effectively communicate with customer leads. Manage technical and non-technical issues through resolution.
Follow DCS's Organizational Set of Standard Processes (OSSP) to develop and deliver project software and document products. Maintain a Capability Maturity Model (CMMI) Maturity Level 3 project plan.
Manage all project Risks through closure
Manage and report performance of project's assigned subcontractors.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of experience or a Master's plus 6 years of experience.
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance within 6-9 months.
Prior experience in project management, budget development, management, and execution.
Effective communicator in verbal and written mediums through both formal and informal channels.
Experience with full life cycle software engineering following the agile methodology
Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and MS Project.
Experience with Risk Management to include the identification, assessment, and prioritization of risks.
Desired Skills:
Knowledge and understanding of mission planning needs of military aviators.
Understanding of Microsoft Azure DevOps.
Certifications in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Methodology
