Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the QA Lead (aka QA Engineer IV) will be responsible for planning, implementing, leading, and executing all aspects of Quality and Testing. The role requires hands-on QA expertise, the ability to take initiative and develop and evolve our QA processes. The right candidate will be able to analyze the systems to determine what to test, the priority of those tests, and the best way to test our custom-developed applications. The Engineer will also be responsible to support setting up test environments, test data, execute test cases and report/track software bugs to closure. Using your experience in software engineering and quality assurance, you will execute automated test scripts that complement our existing test suite and leveraging existing test automation tools. In addition, you will use your experience to support the software development life cycle (SDLC) from the early stages in requirements gathering, to user acceptance and regression testing, through production release. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide mentoring and guidance to other members of the Test Automation team and Manual QA teams
- Analyze requirements and decompose them into test scenarios
- Conduct bug triage meetings and track QA / UAT / Production bugs to closure
- Establish and evolve formal QA processes and procedures across all projects and teams
- Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met
- Act as a key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases, providing QA services and coordinating QA resources internally and externally
- Identify Test environment requirements for both QA and UAT and a handoff to UAT
- Lead QA team members, as well as manage outside contract testers at onsite and offshore working across multiple agile sprint teams
- Create, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases against our software platforms based on an analysis of requirements, user stories, use cases, and technical design specifications
- Identify / Setup test data required to complete test execution
- Collaborate with product and integration development teams to enhance knowledge of business systems to better contribute to the functional and regression testing suites and accompanying automation team
- Provide daily progress report and test results to effectively communicate software test results & bugs to invested stakeholders
- Develop a deep understanding of business processes and integration points to provide a more robust end to end testing
- Work with team leadership to develop test schedules and tasks to deliver high-quality products
- Create Requirements Traceability Matrix and Test Summary reports once testing is completed
- Foster a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement

- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Military/other experience
- At least 10 years of work experience including all aspects of IT Quality Assurance in testing websites, Webservices (REST/SOAP), microsites, mobile apps, desktop applications, SQL, BI, and reports for custom-built systems
- At least 7 years of work experience using any standard test management tool like TFS or Azure DevOps or ALM or Jira or any other tool for creating and maintaining test artifacts
- Experience in system testing, integration testing, end to end testing, regression testing, cross-browser testing, and mobile device compatibility testing
- At least 5 year of experience in writing and executing SQL (T-SQL) queries Experience in using Microsoft Office Tools Suite
- Experience developing and executing test cases, scripts, plans, and procedures for front end and back end manual testing, test automation tools & framework, security testing, and performance testing
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization
- Customer service-oriented, self-starter, and self-driven IT leader
- Local (Dallas/Fort Worth area) candidates only – no relocation
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and not require sponsorship in the future
- Any QA testing certification (like ISTBQ / CSTE) or Agile/Scrum certification or any project management certification is a plus
- Experience in the finance or banking domain is ideal
- Familiarity with Visual Studio 2013/2015/2017/2019
- Experience working in cloud technologies, Azure/AWS/GCP
- Experience with TFS Version control system/Git version control system, Test Explorer / Azure DevOps
- Agile methodology experience (Agile, Scrum, SAFe, etc.)
