Overview
GovernmentCIO is seeking a RedHat/Azure Cloud Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) enterprise platform management operations team. This position requires someone who is located within the Austin, Texas commuting area.
This position will be supporting the DevSecOps initiative within VA's Office of Information Technology, and specifically, the Hosting Modernization effort within the VA Technology and Platform Services portfolio to deliver and manage an integrated enterprise-level platform solution, built on RedHat OpenShift and based on an application containerization approach which will provide a pathway for traditionally hosted applications to leverage cloud native services, auto-scaling, and repeatable CI/CD processes.

Responsibilities
- Implement, manage, and monitor identity, governance, storage, compute, and virtual networks in a cloud environment
- Provision, size, monitor, and adjust resources, when needed
- Create, configure, and manage a cloud application platform using Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
- Manage containerized services
- Deploy single- and multiple-container applications
- Create custom containers
- Collaborate with members of the development team and project managers to deliver solutions
- Use knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, LAN/WAN, IP addresses, and administration to complete a variety of projects
- Use knowledge of servers, PCs, and networks to ensure the environment works correctly
- Implement AIS cloud infrastructure solution offerings based on private cloud, hybrid client environments and multi-cloud environments
Qualifications
Required Skills (Must Have):
- Hands-on experience administering Azure, along with a strong understanding of core Azure services, Azure workloads, security, and governance
- Experience with containers and RedHat OpenShift architecture
- Experience migrating on-premise workloads to the cloud
- Team Player, who works well with others
- Excellent communication skills
- RedHat OpenShift certifications, such as Red Hat Certified Specialist in Containers and Kubernetes and/or Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration
- Microsoft Azure and DevOps certifications, such as Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate and Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert
- Prior experience working with the VA
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific /technical discipline
- 10+ years of related experience
