- Typically manages a work group with responsibility for significant project outcomes.
- Involved in developing, modifying and executing policies that affect immediate business unit and may also have company-wide effect. Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Takes ownership for developing operational plans and activities for product, project, or function. Works with senior level management to ensure plans are integrated with broader corporate and/or functional strategies, budgets, schedules and plans.
- Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives, as well as an understanding of company “politics.”
- Establishes goals, objectives, and priorities for area of responsibility. Frequently participates in the establishment of business unit functional strategies and/or resolution of critical functional issues.
- Responsible for ensuring overall budgets, schedules, and performance standards are attained. Participates in more critical day-to-day operational issues and the resolution of complex issues.
- Required to perform duties outside of normal work hours based on business needs.
- Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, business units, and/or customers.
- Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship.
- Seen as a key leader within a functional organization.
- Participates with peer managers in developing function-wide strategic direction.
- Influences internal leadership on decisions relating to critical priorities and schedules.

- Generally manages more senior level exempt specialists and/or subordinate supervisors/managers. Developing the capabilities of senior level direct reports is a critical responsibility of this level.
- Authorizes projects, approves designs and cost estimates for projects, sets priorities, prepares and administers budgets. Participates in long-range planning.
- Applies advanced technical expertise to provide input to technology direction and establish methodologies. Makes technical recommendations to executive staff.
- Demonstrated successful track record of design, development, and completion of critical, complex projects in area of functional expertise.
- Demonstrated success of establishing, managing, and maintaining effective working relationships at the senior management level, internal and external to an organization
- Normally requires Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of technical experience as a senior contributor working within a Development, DevOps or SRE team.
- 3 to 5 years as an Engineering Lead or Manager
- AWS Solution Architect or DevOps Engineer certification is preferred.
